Frame Technology
A Giant Composite grade (t 600) frame forms the heart of this ultra high performance beauty. Laid up by hand, every Defy/Avail Composite adds road smoothing comfort to the aggressive racing performance. The bike lets you hammer out more miles with greater ease.
The Defy Composite (and Avail Composite) borrows its mold from the 2011 Defy Advanced but swaps in a different fiber (T600)blend and lay-up schedule for cost purposes. Claimed frame weight is still just 1,090g plus 399g for the matching fork.
Each frameset features:
- OverDrive headtube for additional steering stiffness and control
- MegaDrive downtube to tie together the massive headtube and bottom bracket
- PowerCore Bottombracket for outstanding pedaling stiffness
- A taller headtube for more upright positioning
- Longer toptube for additional cockpit positioning
- .05 degree more relaxed head angle foe more confident cornering and descending
- Longer wheelbase for additional comfort and control

Giant and Specialized Bicycles cannot be sold online. All Giant and Specialized Bicycles must be picked up from the store as an assembled bicycle. We do offer a reboxing service at $30 per bike. We are unable to ship Giant or Specialized Bicycles outside of the Christchurch area, however you may organize this yourself at your expense providing the bike has been paid for in store.

You may return any item you purchase in new condition in its original packaging
for a full refund within 14 days of delivery. Items that have been used or clothing
that has been worn will not be refunded.
We will pay the return shipping cost if the return is a result of our error. We'll
notify you via e-mail of your refund once we've received and processed the returned
item. You can expect a refund in the same form of payment originally used for purchase
within 7 business days of us receiving your return.
Please contact us for any returns and for a return number (RMA) before sending any
goods. Any items that are returned without a RMA will be sent straight back without
a refund. Return freight to Chain Reaction Cycles is the purchaser’s responsibility.
