Stumpjumper ST

Snappy and nimble.

The original mountain bike. Now, the ultimate trail bike. Completely redesigned with a stiff, light and beautiful asymmetric frame, supportive suspension kinematics and the ability to adjust geometry. The new Stumpjumper aims to be the best trail bike available. The Stumpjumper Short Travel climbs well, is more lively on the flatter tracks and is the all-around capable light trail bike.

The ultimate trail bike.

The singletrack flow finder.

Featuring a relatively short travel chassis and a very progressive geometry with a slack head angle, steep seat tube and low bottom bracket, the Stumpjumper retains its classic lively ride characteristic and adds capability of the burlier Stumpjumper Evo. The Stumpjumper now has Style-Specific sizing, instead of traditional Small/Medium/Large, which means headtube lengths and standovers stay similar across sizes to allow you a wider range of sizes that fit your style instead of just your leg length. Smaller sizes are more nimble, while bigger sizes are more stable.

A mid-travel trail bike that punches above its weight.

With 130mm of rear travel, the Stumpjumper delivers a ride feel that is snappy and lively, while staying precise and balanced. It's capable of absorbing big hits unlike any other mid-travel trail bike. The combination of its progressive leverage ratio and spring rate gives it a responsive ride for the first two-thirds of travel, then excellent resistance to bottoming in the last third of travel. The carbon models have a new chainstay that eliminates the Horst link pivot for lighter weight and a more laterally stiff chassis that removes the inherent flex possible with bearings. There's still a flip chip in the shock link to let you tweak the head angle and BB height to your own preference.

The lightest and best quality frame.

Ultimately, Specialized if a frame manufacturer which is why you'll find nothing but the best of quality, even down to the entry-level alloy frames. Their Rider-First Engineered process delivers the optimal balance of tuned stiffness, weight and ride quality across all six sizes to ensure every rider experiences the same ultimate trail ride characteristics. On carbon models, you'll find the SWAT box is bigger and holds more of your stuff.

It's also the lightest frame. After crunching countless Finite Element Analysis calculations, Specialized optimized the shape of each of the Stumpy’s frame tubes and their intersections, eliminating “lazy” material that would otherwise hide in unoptimized corners, thereby ensuring that every fiber is delivering the most strength and stiffness it can. The result is maximum performance and minimal weight. The full Stumpjumper frame assembly (size S4 with shock, hardware, link, axle and everything) tips the scales at only 2,420g, but they didn’t compromise in the quest for light weight. The Stumpy sets the bar for mid-travel trail bikes in handling characteristics, pedaling efficiency and trail toughness.
