fox-volume-spacers-1
FOX Suspension Volume Spacers

Fine-tune your FOX air suspension’s spring curve for more support, better bottom-out control or easier full-travel use.

FOX Volume Spacers change the air volume inside a compatible fork or shock. This is an internal adjustment that lets you alter how progressive the suspension feels through its travel without changing the amount of sag you run.

They are useful when your suspension is set up correctly for sag but either uses full travel too easily or feels difficult to push through the final part of its travel.

Positive Air Volume Spacers

Adding a larger positive air volume spacer reduces the air volume, making the spring curve more progressive. This gives the final part of the travel more support and helps resist bottoming out on bigger hits, drops and hard G-outs.

Removing a spacer, or fitting a smaller one, increases air volume and makes it easier to use full travel. This can suit lighter riders or riders who are not reaching full travel with the correct sag setting.

Negative Air Volume Spacers

Negative air volume spacers alter the feel around the start and middle of the travel. Reducing negative air volume can add more mid-stroke support and create a firmer, more responsive feel, often allowing slightly lower positive air pressure to achieve the correct sag.

Before You Buy

Volume spacers are model-specific. Confirm compatibility with your exact FOX fork or shock, travel and air-spring configuration before ordering. Installation involves opening the air spring, so follow the relevant FOX service procedure or book the job with a qualified suspension technician.

Key Features

Internal air-spring tuning for compatible FOX forks and shocks

Adjusts progression without changing travel

Positive spacers increase end-stroke support and bottom-out resistance

Smaller positive spacers make full travel easier to access

Negative spacers can alter initial feel and mid-stroke support

Ideal for tailoring suspension to rider weight, terrain and riding style

Who Is It For?

For riders who have set sag correctly but want to refine how their FOX suspension feels through the travel, whether that means more support on hard hits or easier access to full travel.

Our Thoughts

Volume spacers are one of the most effective suspension tuning adjustments when air pressure and sag are already close. They can make a bike feel far more composed on the trail, but the correct spacer depends on the specific fork or shock and how you ride.

Why Buy from Chain Reaction?

Help identifying compatible FOX suspension parts

Advice on suspension setup and tuning

Professional suspension servicing available

Independent Christchurch bike shop

Please note: all volume spacers are sold individually unless otherwise stated.

Volume Spacer 2022 Nude 5 T/TR XV Chamber .06in^3 Purple -
