Maxxis downhill and bike-park tyres for steep tracks, rough terrain and repeated gravity laps.
This collection brings together Maxxis tyres for downhill racing, bike-park riding and gravity-focused mountain bikes. It includes the Minion DHF, Minion DHR II, Minion DHX, Assegai, High Roller III and Shorty Gen 2 in a range of wheel sizes, rubber compounds and reinforced casings.
The Minion DHF is a proven front-tyre choice for predictable cornering across mixed terrain. Pair it with a Minion DHR II when strong rear braking traction and dependable all-round grip are priorities.
Choose an Assegai when maximum front-wheel confidence matters more than rolling speed. The Minion DHX is designed for fast, rough gravity riding where casing support and control under heavy loads are important. For loose, dusty or softer tracks, the High Roller III has a more open tread that can dig into the surface while still providing support through corners.
When the ground gets properly soft or muddy, the Shorty Gen 2 provides an open tread that can clear mud and find grip more effectively than a closely spaced dry-condition tyre. It is a more specialised option and will generally roll more slowly on firm trails.
Look for DoubleDown or Downhill casings when riding rough tracks, racing downhill or completing repeated lift-assisted laps. These heavier casings provide greater support and impact protection than lighter trail constructions. MaxxGrip rubber prioritises traction and control but will generally roll more slowly and wear faster than MaxxTerra.
Check the selected variant carefully before ordering. Tyres sharing the same tread name can differ in wheel size, width, casing, rubber compound, bead construction and tubeless compatibility. Wire-bead BikePark tyres offer a durable and more affordable option, while folding Downhill models generally use more advanced rubber and casing combinations.
