A Leverless Rear Axle for Bikes Using a 180mm, M12 × 1.75 Fitment.
The Burgtec 180mm × 12mm Rear Axle is a replacement thru-axle for compatible mountain bike frames using an M12 × 1.75 thread. Its leverless design provides a clean finish and removes the external handle found on a conventional quick-release axle.
Machined from 7075 aluminium, the axle is tightened with a 6mm hex key. It is commonly used with 12 × 148mm Boost rear hubs, but hub spacing alone does not confirm compatibility.

Burgtec lists SRAM reference 00.4318.005.028 for this axle. Check the number on your original axle where possible and compare it with the Burgtec dimension drawing before ordering.

Compatible Stanton frames and some Commencal 12 × 148mm Boost frames may also use this axle. These brands have produced different frame designs, so compare the original axle measurements before ordering rather than relying on the brand or hub spacing alone.
This axle is not compatible with Evil bikes. A different Burgtec axle is required for those frames.
Leverless Design
The leverless head improves clearance around the dropout and reduces the chance of an external handle being caught or knocked by trailside debris.
A 6mm hex key is used for installation and removal, allowing a suitable torque wrench to be used. Always follow the frame manufacturer’s axle torque specification. The leverless design is clean and practical, but it is not an anti-theft feature.

Our Thoughts
This axle covers a useful range of frames from several manufacturers, but it should not be treated as a universal Boost axle. The 180mm length and relatively coarse M12 × 1.75 thread are the details that matter.
We recommend removing and measuring the original axle before ordering. That small check is considerably easier than discovering the thread or overall length is wrong when fitting the rear wheel.
