Direct-Mount Protection for Burgtec SRAM 8-Bolt Chainrings.

The Burgtec Chainring Bash Guard helps protect the lower edge of a compatible chainring and chain from rocks, roots and trail impacts. It mounts directly to Burgtec chainrings using the SRAM 8-bolt interface, keeping the installation tidy without requiring ISCG tabs on the frame.

Choose a single guard for protection in the most exposed position or a pair for additional coverage. Available in Burgtec Black and Rhodium Silver, the guards can also be mixed to suit the bike.

Check that your bike has a compatible Burgtec SRAM 8-bolt chainring before ordering. The chainring, crankset and chain guide are not included.

Single or Pair?

A single guard provides protection at the most exposed part of the chainring while keeping weight and cost down. It is also useful if you need to replace a damaged guard or want to combine two different colours.

A pair places a guard on each side of the lower section of the chainring, providing broader coverage for bikes regularly ridden through rocky or technical terrain.

7075 Aluminium Construction

Each guard is CNC-machined from strong 7075 aluminium. This provides a solid barrier between the chainring and trail obstacles without adding the bulk of a larger frame-mounted bash plate.

Stainless-steel mounting bolts are included. The guards are replaceable, so an impact does not necessarily mean replacing the complete chainring.

Our Thoughts

This is a worthwhile addition if you already use a compatible Burgtec SRAM 8-bolt chainring and regularly ride rocky trails. A single guard provides useful protection with minimal additional weight, while the pair makes more sense for enduro, downhill and harder trail riding.

The important point is compatibility. These guards attach to specific Burgtec chainrings and are not a universal bash guard for every SRAM 8-bolt ring. Check the branding and mounting points on your existing chainring before ordering.
