The Burgtec Bartender Pro Super Soft Greg Minnaar Grips are made for mountain bikers who prioritise a soft, tacky connection with the handlebar.

They use the same 31.5mm diameter and Greg Minnaar surface pattern as the standard Bartender Pro, but replace its 30A rubber with Burgtec’s softer Super Soft compound. The result is a more cushioned feel with plenty of traction in wet or dry conditions.

Super Soft Compound

Burgtec’s Super Soft rubber is designed to provide additional suppleness and a tackier surface than the standard 30A version. This allows the grip to conform more readily beneath your hands and can help take the edge off repeated trail impacts.

Burgtec does not publish a numerical Shore rating for this compound, so it is best described simply as Super Soft.

The trade-off with any very soft grip is wear life. Riders who frequently wear through grips or prefer a firmer connection with the handlebar may be better suited to the standard 30A Bartender Pro Minnaar.

Greg Minnaar Surface Pattern

The grip uses the same World Cup-proven pattern developed with Greg Minnaar. Its raised rubber sections provide traction while leaving enough room for the surface to flex beneath your palm and fingers.

The pattern works with gloves or bare hands, although grip feel will also depend on your glove material, hand position and riding conditions.

Comfortable 31.5mm Diameter

The 31.5mm diameter provides a medium-sized grip that suits a wide range of riders. It offers more cushioning than a particularly slim grip without moving into the oversized category.

Riders with smaller hands or those wanting a more direct feel may prefer Burgtec’s original 30mm Bartender grip.

Tapered Core and Single Locking Collar

An ultra-thin tapered internal core leaves additional room for rubber between your hands and the handlebar. This allows the grip surface to flex more freely than a lock-on grip built around a thick, rigid sleeve.

A single inner locking collar holds each grip securely in position while leaving the outer end free from a second metal clamp.

We would recommend it to riders who prioritise traction and cushioning ahead of maximum durability. If you are already comfortable on the standard 30A version, there is no strong reason to change unless you specifically want a softer feel.

Grip setup still matters. Position the pattern where it feels natural beneath your hands, tighten the locking collars to Burgtec’s specified torque and check that the grips cannot rotate before riding.
