Burgtec Top Caps and Bolts are a simple way to add one of Burgtec’s signature colours to your bike. Match the top cap and bolt for a coordinated finish or combine two colours to create your own look.
Both parts are made from aluminium and designed for compatible 1 1/8-inch threadless headset systems.
Top Cap and Bolt Sold Separately
The Burgtec Top Cap and Burgtec Top Cap Bolt are separate products. Select one of each if you need a complete setup.
The Burgtec Top Cap must be used with a Burgtec Top Cap Bolt. It is not designed to work with a standard top-cap bolt.
You can select matching colours or mix them to suit your bike. Check the selected product and colour carefully before adding it to your cart.

Headset Preload
The top cap and bolt are used to set headset-bearing preload during installation. Once the headset is adjusted and the stem bolts are tightened correctly, the stem provides the clamping force around the steerer.
Do not overtighten the top-cap bolt. Use only enough tension to remove headset play while allowing the handlebars to turn smoothly.

Just remember that the top cap and bolt are sold separately and designed to work together. If you are unsure about headset adjustment, our workshop can install them and check the headset preload at the same time.
