A Clean, Leverless Rear Axle for Compatible Trek Boost Bikes.
The Burgtec Trek 184.5mm Rear Axle replaces the original rear thru-axle on selected Trek mountain bikes using 12 × 148mm Boost spacing. Its leverless design creates a tidy finish and removes the external handle found on a conventional quick-release axle.
Machined from 7075 aluminium, the axle uses a 6mm hex fitting at both ends. One side handles normal installation and removal, while the second provides a useful backup if the primary fitting becomes damaged.

Check Your Axle Before Ordering
This axle has a 12mm diameter, a nominal overall length of 184.5mm and an M12 × 1.0 thread. Burgtec’s detailed measurement is approximately 184.4mm.
Compare the original axle with the Burgtec dimension drawing before ordering. If your axle carries a Trek part number, check that it matches W583469.
This axle should not be confused with Burgtec’s Trek Remedy axle. The Remedy version is considerably longer and uses a different thread, so the two are not interchangeable.
Leverless Design
Removing the external lever improves clearance around the dropout and reduces the chance of the handle being caught or knocked by trailside debris.
The axle is tightened with a 6mm hex key, allowing a suitable torque wrench to be used. Always follow Trek’s specified axle torque rather than overtightening it.
The second 6mm fitting provides another removal point if the main interface becomes rounded or difficult to use. The leverless design is clean and practical, but it is not an anti-theft feature.
