A Clean, Leverless Replacement Axle for Compatible Yeti Frames.
The Burgtec Yeti 174mm Rear Axle is a strong, neatly finished replacement for selected Yeti mountain bikes. Machined from 7075 aluminium, it replaces the standard rear axle with a low-profile design that provides good clearance around the frame.
A 6mm hex fitting on each end provides two points for installation and removal. The second fitting can be used if the main non-drive-side interface becomes damaged.

Some original Yeti axles are marked as 172mm long. Burgtec confirms that its 174mm axle is the compatible replacement for the models listed above.
If your bike is an earlier SB165, SB150, SB140, SB130 or another previous-generation Yeti, it may require Burgtec’s 171mm axle instead. Check the dimensions of the original axle and confirm the frame model and year before ordering.
7075 Aluminium Construction
The axle is machined from 7075 aluminium to provide a useful balance of strength and low weight. Its leverless head sits close to the frame, reducing the chance of catching an external handle on rocks, vegetation or other obstacles.
The leverless design should not be treated as an anti-theft device. A standard 6mm hex key is all that is required for normal installation and removal.
Dual Hex Access
The main 6mm hex interface is positioned on the non-drive side. A second 6mm fitting on the drive side provides another removal point if the primary fitting becomes rounded or damaged.
Apply suitable grease to the axle shaft and threads before installation, then tighten it to the torque specified by Yeti for your frame. Do not rely on axle length alone because the diameter, thread pitch and threaded-section length must all match.
