Carbon Frame Built for Speed

The SuperX carbon frame combines aerodynamic shaping with a responsive feel for accelerating, climbing and riding at pace. Cannondale’s Proportional Response construction adjusts the frame design across the size range to suit different riders.

Internal cable routing keeps the frame tidy, while a BSA threaded bottom bracket and UDH-compatible rear derailleur mount provide practical standards for servicing and component replacement.

Shimano GRX Di2 Electronic Shifting

Shimano GRX 825 Di2 provides precise electronic shifting for both front and rear derailleurs. The 2 × 12-speed setup suits riders who like smaller steps between gears when holding a steady pace on sealed roads or fast gravel.

The size 46 uses a shorter 165 mm GRX RX610 crankset with 46/30T chainrings. The size 61 uses a GRX RX820 crankset with 48/31T chainrings. Both are paired with an 11–34T cassette.

A 2x drivetrain offers useful gearing for mixed surfaces, though it adds a front derailleur compared with a single-chainring setup. If your rides include steep climbs with a loaded bike, talk to us about whether the gearing suits your routes.

Reserve Carbon Wheels

Reserve 40|44 GR carbon wheels give the SuperX a responsive feel when you pick up the pace. They are paired with DT Swiss 370 hubs and Vittoria Terreno T50 700 × 40c tyres for a fast-rolling setup suited to gravel and mixed surfaces.

The wheels and tyres are tubeless-ready, and Reserve Fillmore valves are listed with the bike. Sealant and final tubeless setup may still be required. Talk to our workshop if you would like the bike set up tubeless.

Control When the Gravel Gets Loose

Cannondale’s OutFront steering geometry pairs a relaxed head angle with a 55 mm fork offset. It helps the front end feel settled on loose surfaces and at speed, while remaining responsive when you need to change your line.

Shimano GRX 820 hydraulic disc brakes provide controlled stopping power on gravel descents and in changing weather. The bike uses 160 mm Shimano CL800 rotors front and rear.

Room for Wider Tyres

Cannondale lists SuperX clearance for tyres up to 48 mm at the frame and 51 mm at the fork. The frame is the limiting point when choosing tyres for both wheels.

Actual tyre width depends on the tyre, rim and pressure. The front derailleur may also affect clearance on a 2x setup, so check the measured clearance before fitting wider tyres and allow extra room for mud.

Clean Cockpit and Carbon Seatpost

The Vision Trimax Aero alloy handlebar and Cannondale C1 Conceal stem create a tidy cockpit, with the Delta Steerer allowing cables and hoses to pass through the front of the bike.

The C1 Aero 27 carbon seatpost has a D-shaped profile designed to provide controlled flex at the saddle. A Conceal stem accessory mount for a Garmin or Wahoo computer is listed by Cannondale.

Our Thoughts

The SuperX 2 is a good choice if you want a fast gravel bike and prefer the smaller gear changes of a 2x drivetrain. GRX Di2 takes care of shifting, while the carbon frame and Reserve wheels give the bike the responsive feel you want when the pace lifts.

Compared with the Topstone, the SuperX is more focused on speed and has a more direct feel, without Kingpin rear suspension. If your priority is comfort over long, rough roads, the Topstone may suit you better. If you are lining up for gravel events or enjoy fast rides on mixed surfaces, the SuperX is worth a closer look.
