Effetto Mariposa Vegetalex Tyre Sealant is a biodegradable, plant-based sealant suitable for tubeless tyres, tubular tyres and inner tubes. It provides dependable puncture protection without natural or synthetic latex, plastic particles, ammonia or other aggressive chemicals.
Vegetalex uses finely ground olive stones and cellulose fibres suspended in xanthan gum. This plant-based mixture spreads around the inside of the tyre, sealing tyre porosity and punctures up to 5mm.

Long-Lasting and Low Maintenance
Vegetalex remains active for more than six months inside most tyres. In demanding conditions, such as hot weather, porous tyres or when only a small quantity is used, its working life may be closer to three months. In more structured tyres, including many e-bike tyres, it may last for a full riding season.
Recommended Quantity
Use approximately 20% more Vegetalex than the recommended Caffélatex quantity. As an example, a 29 x 2.10 tubeless-ready tyre requires approximately 84ml of Vegetalex.
For multi-day rides over rocky or thorny terrain, add another 30ml for additional puncture protection.
Usage and Storage
- Shake the bottle thoroughly before use
- 250ml and 1L bottles include a flexible injection tube
- Operating temperature: -20°C to +50°C
- Storage temperature: -15°C to +30°C
- Use within two years of opening
- Keep the bottle tightly closed and away from direct sunlight
- May contain traces of nuts
- Unprotected aluminium rims may oxidise due to the water content found in tyre sealants
