Stan’s Flow MK4 M-Pulse wheels are built for trail and enduro riders wanting a strong aluminium rim, balanced ride feel and quick hub engagement.
Front and rear wheels are sold individually. Select the wheel and rear freehub option required. A complete wheelset requires one front wheel and one compatible rear wheel.
The 30mm internal rim width works well with modern 2.3–2.6-inch mountain bike tyres. Tubeless tape is installed, preparing each wheel for compatible tubeless tyres, valves and sealant.
Flow MK4 Asymmetric Rim
The Flow MK4 rim is made from durable 6069 aluminium with a welded joint and reinforced spoke bed. Stan’s BST Asymmetric profile offsets the spoke holes to improve the spoke bracing angles and create more balanced tension between each side of the wheel.
Its low-profile shape combines lateral support with enough radial compliance to maintain grip and control through rough sections. Traditional Sapim J-bend spokes are strong, widely available and straightforward to replace when servicing the wheel.
M-Pulse Hubs
M-Pulse rear hubs use six magnetically actuated pawls rather than conventional pawl springs. Neodymium magnets reduce resistance while coasting and pull the pawls securely into engagement when power is applied.
With 216 engagement points and only 1.66 degrees of rotation before engagement, the rear hub responds quickly through technical climbs and sections requiring frequent pedal inputs.
The hubs use 17mm 7075 aluminium axles, Enduro bearings and adjustable bearing preload. Shielded construction helps protect the bearings from water, dust and trail debris.

Our Thoughts
The Flow MK4 sits between lighter trail wheels and heavier gravity-focused options such as the Flow EX3. It is strong enough for hard trail and enduro riding without carrying the additional weight of a downhill-focused rim.
The M-Pulse rear hub is the standout feature, particularly on technical terrain where its fast engagement is easy to notice. Traditional spokes and adjustable hub bearings also keep long-term servicing practical.
