Supportive Synchwire™ Upper
The one-piece Synchwire™ upper combines breathable ripstop mesh with a laminated protective film.
This construction conforms closely around the foot while providing the structure needed during harder efforts. It also helps prevent dust and trail debris from entering the shoe without excessively restricting ventilation.
Precise Dual-Zone BOA® Adjustment
Two machined-aluminium BOA® Li2 dials independently adjust separate areas of the foot. This makes it possible to secure the midfoot while leaving more room around the forefoot when required.
Bi-directional micro-adjustment allows small fit changes to be made while riding as foot volume or conditions change. Stainless steel laces and soft guides help distribute tension comfortably across the upper.
Efficient Carbon-Composite Plate
A long-fibre carbon-composite plate provides a stiff and responsive platform beneath the foot.

The tread is co-moulded directly to the carbon-composite plate, creating a strong and permanent connection without relying on adhesives.
Protection for Off-Road Riding
TPU reinforcement around the toe and heel helps protect the shoes from rocks, roots and regular trail wear.
TPU toe lugs provide additional traction on steep or loose ground and are secured using replaceable hex-head cleat screws.
Adjustable Foot Support

Our Thoughts on the Giro Gritter Shoes
The Gritter is the shoe we’d recommend to gravel and XC riders who want a properly firm pedalling platform but still need enough grip for the occasional walk or hike-a-bike section. The carbon-composite plate feels responsive under power, particularly when climbing or riding at race pace.
The dual BOA® system gives you good control over the fit. Being able to adjust the forefoot separately from the upper part of the shoe makes it easier to get secure heel retention without overtightening across the toes.
