Sinch Jaunt EZ 4
The Sinch Jaunt EZ 4 is a comfortable step-through e-bike for commuting, longer recreational rides and exploring cycle trails. It uses the same 90Nm Bosch motor and 800Wh battery as the full-suspension Force EZ 4, but keeps the frame simpler with front suspension only. A suspension dropper post, wide Maxxis tyres and a full set of everyday accessories make it easy to ride and ready for regular use.
Bosch Power for Hills and Longer Rides
The Bosch Performance Line Sport Smart System produces 90Nm of torque, giving the Jaunt plenty of help on steep roads, into headwinds and when the rear carrier is loaded.
The New Zealand model provides pedal assistance up to 45km/h. The motor adds support only while you are pedalling, with Walk Assist available when you need to push the bike.
An 800Wh Battery with Room to Grow
The removable Bosch PowerTube battery provides 800Wh of capacity. That is a generous amount for commuting and recreational riding, particularly if your routes include regular climbing.
For longer trips, the Jaunt EZ 4 is compatible with the optional Bosch PowerMore 250 Range Extender. This increases total capacity to 1,050Wh.
Easy to Get On and Manage
The full step-through frame has a low opening, so there is no high top tube to swing a leg over. This makes the bike easier to use for riders with limited hip or knee movement, or anyone who prefers a more accessible frame.
The suspension dropper post can lower the saddle from the handlebar and adds some cushioning over rough surfaces. It makes stopping, placing your feet down and getting back aboard much easier.
Comfort on Roads and Cycle Trails
The SR Suntour XCM34 Air fork provides 100mm of travel and can be adjusted to suit rider weight. Rebound adjustment controls how quickly it returns after a bump, while the lockout firms the fork for smooth roads.
Maxxis Ikon 27.5 x 2.35-inch tyres provide more grip and comfort than a narrow commuter tyre. Their EXO protection helps guard against cuts, and the tubeless-ready construction gives you the option of converting them later.
Straightforward Shimano CUES Shifting
The Shimano CUES 10-speed drivetrain uses LinkGlide components designed to handle the extra load created by an e-bike motor. Its 11–48T cassette provides a useful spread of gears for city riding, cycle trails and steeper climbs.
This is a conventional cable-operated drivetrain, so you remain in control of every gear change. It is a good choice for riders who prefer familiar manual shifting.
Ready for Everyday Transport
The Jaunt EZ 4 includes alloy mudguards, an MIK HD rear carrier, a kickstand and an adjustable mirror. The carrier is rated to 27kg and accepts compatible panniers, baskets and other MIK accessories.
A 90-lux front light and sensor-operated rear brake light run from the main battery. Platform pedals are also included.

Our Thoughts on the Sinch Jaunt EZ 4
The Jaunt EZ 4 is a good option for riders who want the power and battery capacity of the Force EZ 4 but do not need rear suspension. The hardtail frame is simpler, while the air fork, wide tyres and suspension seatpost still provide plenty of comfort for roads, gravel paths and most cycle trails.
The 90Nm Bosch motor and 800Wh battery are the standout parts of the package. They give the Jaunt the strength and range needed for longer or hillier rides, rather than limiting it to short trips around town.
This model uses conventional Shimano CUES shifting. Riders wanting automatic gear changes should look at the Jaunt EZ 5 Auto, but we would choose the Jaunt EZ 4 if familiar manual shifting is preferred. It also includes a 27kg-rated rear carrier, making it ready for panniers or a basket without needing to source a rack separately.

- S/M: Approximately 152–170cm
- M/L: Approximately 168–182cm
- XL: Approximately 178–196cm
All sizes use 27.5-inch wheels. Rider height is a useful starting point, but leg length, reach, mobility and preferred riding position also matter. Contact Chain Reaction for personalised sizing advice, particularly if you sit between two sizes.
