Sinch Mode AT 2.5
Description

Sinch Mode AT 2.5

The Sinch Mode AT 2.5 is a versatile e-bike for commuting, gravel paths and longer weekend rides. Its Shimano EP600 motor has plenty of strength for steeper hills, while the 630Wh battery gives you enough capacity to ride farther between charges. With wide tyres, front suspension, a dropper post and the main commuting accessories already fitted, it can cover a broad mix of everyday and recreational riding.

More Help When the Road Tilts Up

The Shimano EP600 motor produces 85Nm of torque. It feels smooth around town but has the strength needed for proper climbs, particularly when you are carrying panniers or riding in hillier areas.

The New Zealand model provides pedal assistance up to 45km/h. It does not ride at that speed by itself—the motor adds support only while you are pedalling.

A Battery Suited to Longer Rides

The 630Wh Shimano battery gives the Mode AT 2.5 more range than the 504Wh battery fitted to the Mode AT 1.5. That extra capacity is useful if your commute is longer, your route has plenty of climbing or you prefer riding in the higher support modes.

The battery is integrated into the downtube but can be removed for charging. It can also be charged while fitted to the bike.

A Dropper Post That Is Genuinely Useful

The dropper post allows you to lower the saddle using a lever on the handlebar. That is handy on trails, but it also makes a heavier e-bike easier to manage when stopping at intersections or getting on and off.

Dropper travel is matched to the frame size, ranging from 100mm on the small to 175mm on the extra large.

Comfort on Gravel and Rough Cycleways

The SR Suntour XCM34 fork provides 100mm of travel, taking some of the impact out of potholes, corrugations and uneven paths. A hydraulic lockout lets you firm the fork when riding on smoother roads.

The 29 x 2.4-inch Maxxis Metropass AT tyres add grip and stability without turning the Mode into a full mountain bike. They are tubeless-ready, have EXO puncture protection and use reflective sidewalls for better visibility.

Shimano CUES LinkGlide Gearing

The Shimano CUES 9-speed drivetrain is simple to operate and built to handle the extra load created by an e-bike motor. Its 11–46T cassette provides a useful climbing gear without making the jumps between gears awkward for everyday riding.

Shimano MT200 hydraulic brakes provide predictable stopping power, with a larger 180mm rotor at the front and a 160mm rotor at the rear.

Why Riders Love the Sinch Mode AT 2.5

The Mode AT 2.5 is a good fit for riders who do not want separate bikes for commuting and weekend exploring. It has the practical equipment needed during the week but is also comfortable enough for gravel paths, longer cycle trails and rougher back roads.

Strong Climbing Support

The 85Nm motor makes steep climbs, headwinds and loaded riding much more manageable.

Longer-Ride Battery

A 630Wh battery gives you more breathing room on longer routes, especially when the ride includes plenty of hills.

Easy to Manage When Stopped

Lowering the dropper post makes it easier to place your feet on the ground and steady the bike.

Comfort on Mixed Surfaces

The suspension fork, 29-inch wheels and wide Maxxis tyres work well on sealed roads, gravel and uneven cycleways.

Everyday Carrying Ability

The MIK HD carrier can take compatible panniers, baskets and other accessories, with a load rating of up to 27kg.

Ready from Day One

Lights, mudguards, a carrier, a kickstand and pedals are included. You will not need to add the basic commuting equipment after buying the bike.

Who Is This Bike For?

Perfect For

✔ Daily commuting
✔ Longer recreational rides
✔ Sealed roads and cycleways
✔ Gravel paths and easy trails
✔ Riders living in hillier areas
✔ Carrying panniers, shopping or work equipment
✔ Riders wanting easier footing when stopped
✔ Anyone wanting more motor power and battery capacity than the Mode AT 1.5

Our Thoughts on the Sinch Mode AT 2.5

The Mode AT 2.5 is the one we would choose from the Mode range if the riding includes longer distances or regular hills. The jump from the Mode AT 1.5’s 60Nm motor to 85Nm is noticeable, and the larger 630Wh battery means you can use that extra support without watching the battery display quite as closely.

We also like the inclusion of a dropper post. It is useful on gravel and easy trails, but its biggest benefit for many riders will simply be making the bike easier to handle at intersections and when getting on or off.

The trade-off is weight. At 28.8kg including the battery, this is not a bike we would recommend carrying upstairs each day or regularly lifting onto a roof rack. If you have ground-level storage, the Mode AT 2.5 offers a sensible mix of climbing power, comfort and everyday equipment.
