The Muc-Off Bicycle Chain Brush provides a straightforward way to clean accumulated oil, dirt and grime from the chain and surrounding drivetrain components.
Its multi-sided cleaning head contacts three sides of the chain at once, while stiff polypropylene bristles reach between the links and rollers to agitate stubborn contamination. Longer bristles at the end of the brush can be used around chainrings, cassettes and derailleur jockey wheels.

Why Use a Dedicated Chain Brush?
A chain collects lubricant, dust and road or trail contamination in areas that are difficult to clean properly with a cloth. The shaped head of this brush works around three sides of the chain, while the longer bristles let you clean the cassette and other drivetrain components with the same tool.
Keeping it specifically for drivetrain cleaning also prevents oily contamination from being transferred to your frame-cleaning brushes.
How to Use
Apply a suitable drivetrain cleaner or degreaser to the chain, cassette, chainrings and derailleurs. Allow the product to work according to its directions, then use the shaped section of the brush along the chain.
Use the longer end bristles to agitate contamination around the cassette, chainrings and jockey wheels. Work around the complete drivetrain, applying additional cleaner if required.
Rinse thoroughly to remove the cleaner and loosened contamination. Allow the drivetrain to dry completely before applying a chain lubricant suitable for your riding conditions. Wipe away excess lubricant before riding.
Our Thoughts
This is a useful step up from trying to clean the chain with a general-purpose washing brush. The three-sided head keeps the bristles positioned around the chain and makes it easier to work through built-up grime.
The longer end is useful around the cassette and jockey wheels, although heavily contaminated drivetrains may still benefit from a separate Claw Brush or more detailed cleaning between the sprockets.
Care Instructions
Rinse the brush thoroughly after every use, removing any trapped grease and dirt from the bristles. Shake off excess water and allow it to air dry before storage.
Keep this brush for drivetrain cleaning rather than using it on the frame or other delicate finishes.
Please Note
Do not use the brush with boiling water or on hot components. Allow the drivetrain to cool and use warm water where required.
Keep degreaser, water-displacing sprays and chain lubricant away from brake pads, disc rotors and rim-braking surfaces. Always follow the directions supplied with the cleaning product and lubricant being used.
