Muc-Off Disc Brake Cleaner is designed specifically for cleaning bicycle disc brake rotors and pads. Its fast-acting formula removes brake dust, oil, grease, brake fluid and built-up grime that can contribute to reduced braking performance and unwanted brake noise.
The cleaner air-dries quickly without leaving residue, while Muc-Off's rehydrating formula is designed to help condition disc brake pads. It's safe for use around rubber, plastic, anodised metal and carbon fibre when used as directed, making it suitable for modern road, gravel, mountain bike and e-bike disc brake systems.

Why Use a Dedicated Disc Brake Cleaner?
Disc brakes rely on clean friction surfaces to work properly. Oil, chain lubricant, cleaning products and general road or trail contamination can affect braking performance and contribute to unwanted noise.
A dedicated brake cleaner is designed to remove this contamination without leaving behind the residue that some general-purpose cleaners can.
How to Use
Make sure the brake components are completely cool and work in a well-ventilated area. Shake the can thoroughly, then apply the cleaner across the brake area so the pads and rotors are treated.
Allow the cleaner to evaporate, then wipe away any excess with a clean, dry microfibre cloth. Make sure the brake system is completely dry and check its operation before riding.
Our Thoughts
This is one of those workshop products that's worth having on the shelf if you maintain bikes with disc brakes. It's particularly useful after cleaning or servicing the drivetrain, when there's always a chance that grease, lubricant or cleaner has found its way towards the rotors.
It can help with surface contamination and brake noise, but it won't rescue every contaminated brake pad. If oil or lubricant has soaked deeply into the pad material, replacing the pads may still be necessary.

Use only in a well-ventilated area and do not apply to hot brake components. Do not allow Disc Brake Cleaner to remain on painted surfaces.
This is an extremely flammable aerosol. Keep it away from heat, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. Keep out of reach of children and follow the safety instructions on the can.
Always check brake operation before riding. Persistent noise or poor braking may indicate heavily contaminated or worn pads, damaged rotors or another issue requiring inspection.
