Muc-Off Disc Brake Covers provide a simple way to protect your disc brake rotors from contamination while you're cleaning or maintaining your bike. Slip them over the brake and they create a barrier against overspray from chain lube, protectants and other workshop products that you don't want reaching the braking surfaces.
Made from breathable neoprene, the covers are reusable and designed to fit road and mountain bike disc brake systems. They can also provide additional rotor protection when transporting the bike inside a vehicle. They should not be used when the bike is carried externally on a vehicle.

Why Use Disc Brake Covers?
Disc brakes work best when the rotors and pads remain free from oil and lubricant. Unfortunately, many of the products used when cleaning and maintaining a bike are exactly the things you don't want anywhere near your brakes.
Fitting the covers before spraying chain lube, MO-94, Bike Protect or similar products provides a physical barrier and makes it much easier to work around the bike without accidentally contaminating the rotors.
How to Use
Separate the neoprene cover from its base plate. With the Velcro facing towards you, carefully open the base plate at its join and slide it over the hub axle.
Starting at the brake calliper, fit the neoprene cover over the calliper and brake hose or cable, then work it around the entire rotor. Make sure the rotor and braking components are covered before applying protectants, polishes or spray lubricants.
After use, rinse both parts with water and leave them to hang dry.
Our Thoughts
These are particularly useful if you regularly wash and maintain bikes with disc brakes. Overspray can travel further than you expect, and contaminating a rotor or brake pad can turn a straightforward bike clean into an annoying brake problem.
They're a simple workshop precaution, especially when using aerosol products around the drivetrain.
Please Note
Always remove the covers before riding. Do not use them when transporting a bike externally on a vehicle, as sustained airflow may damage the Velcro closures.
Do not spray lubricants or protectants directly onto the covers for an extended period. Disc Brake Covers reduce the risk of overspray contamination but do not replace careful product application.
