How to Use
Allow heavy mud to dry, then use the brush to remove loose dirt before applying shoe cleaner.
For more stubborn grime, apply a suitable footwear cleaner and gently agitate the affected areas with the brush. The brush can be dipped in warm water and rinsed regularly while moving between different sections of the shoe.
Wipe the shoes with a clean, damp cloth after cleaning and allow them to air dry naturally.
Why Use a Dedicated Shoe Brush?
Cycling shoes collect mud, road grime and dust in areas that can be difficult to clean with a cloth alone. A dedicated brush provides enough agitation to work around textured uppers, seams, closures and sole edges without using the same brush that has been contaminated with chain oil or drivetrain grime.
Our Thoughts
This makes the most sense for mountain bike and gravel shoes, particularly after muddy rides, but it is equally useful for road shoes that regularly pick up road spray and general grime.
We'd keep it specifically for footwear rather than using a general bike-cleaning brush. That prevents oily contamination from the drivetrain ending up on light-coloured or more delicate shoe materials.
Please Note
Always check the shoe manufacturer’s care instructions before cleaning. Use light pressure around delicate mesh, printed graphics, suede, nubuck and bonded sections and test the brush on an inconspicuous area if you're unsure.
Do not machine dry or apply direct heat unless permitted by the footwear manufacturer. Allow shoes and the wooden-handled brush to air dry naturally after cleaning.
