The 50m roll makes sense if you're regularly setting up tubeless wheels rather than buying individual rim-tape rolls each time. It provides the same tubeless sealing performance in a larger workshop-friendly format, with multiple widths available to suit different rims.
Choosing the Correct Width
Match the tape width as closely as possible to the internal width of your rim. You can usually find this measurement marked on the rim or in the rim manufacturer’s specifications. If there is no exact Muc-Off tape size available, choose the next size up and check that the tape covers the rim bed without interfering with the tyre bead.

For a single wheelset, a smaller roll will usually be more practical. The 50m version is better suited to workshops, riders maintaining several bikes or anyone regularly building and servicing tubeless wheels. Getting the correct width is more important than simply choosing tape based on whether the bike is road, gravel or MTB.
Please Note
Thoroughly clean and dry the rim before applying the tape. Begin opposite the valve hole, maintain even tension and overlap the tape by approximately 10–15cm. Correct tape width and careful installation are essential for achieving a reliable tubeless seal.
