Muc-Off Silicon Shine is a finishing spray designed to leave metal, plastic and rubber surfaces with a clean, protective shine after washing. The silicone-based formula helps reduce dirt adhesion, making it easier to keep treated areas clean between washes.
It's particularly useful around suspension components, where it can be applied appropriately to fork stanchions and rear shock shafts to help reduce friction and keep these sliding surfaces clean and smooth.

Why Use Muc-Off Silicon Shine?
Silicon Shine does more than simply make a clean bike look good. The protective silicone layer helps prevent dirt sticking as readily to treated surfaces, which can make the next bike clean easier.
On suspension bikes, careful application around the fork stanchions and rear shock shaft can also help keep the sliding surfaces clean and moving smoothly.
How to Use
Start with a clean bike and remove any remaining dust or excess water. Shake the can thoroughly before use and apply Silicon Shine to appropriate surfaces, then wipe and buff with a clean microfibre cloth where required.
For suspension components, apply carefully to the stanchion or shock shaft and cycle the suspension to help lift dirt from around the seals. Wipe away excess product and any contamination with a clean cloth.
Our Thoughts
We'd use this as the final step after washing and drying a mountain bike. It gives the frame and components a tidy finish, but the more useful benefit is around the suspension, where keeping the stanchions and shock shaft clean is part of good regular maintenance.
The big caution is the brakes. Silicone and braking surfaces are a terrible combination, so we'd protect the rotors before spraying and avoid applying it anywhere near brake pads, rotors or rim-braking surfaces.
Please Note
Do not apply Silicon Shine to brake pads, disc brake rotors, rim-braking surfaces, tyre tread, grips, saddles or other surfaces where reduced friction could create a safety risk.
Take particular care with aerosol overspray around disc brakes. Muc-Off Disc Brake Covers can be used to help protect the rotors while applying finishing products.
Silicon Shine supports routine suspension cleaning but does not replace the lubrication, seal servicing or maintenance specified by the suspension manufacturer.
