Why Use a Soft Washing Brush?
Different areas of a bike need different types of brushes. A stiff brush is useful around heavily contaminated drivetrain components, but it's not what we'd choose for painted frames and other more delicate surfaces.
The Soft Washing Brush gives you a large cleaning area with gentler bristles, making it better suited to the main frame, fork and other surfaces where you want to remove dirt without unnecessarily aggressive scrubbing.
How to Use
Rinse loose dirt and grit from the bike before starting. Apply your chosen bike cleaner, then use the wet brush to gently agitate dirt across the frame and components.
Regularly rinse the brush while cleaning so you're not carrying grit from one part of the bike to another. Once finished, rinse the bike and brush thoroughly with clean water.
Our Thoughts
This is the brush we'd start with for the main body of the bike. The large head gets through frames and wheels quickly, while the soft bristles make much more sense around paintwork than using the same brush you've just scrubbed the cassette with.
We'd keep it specifically for the cleaner areas of the bike and use separate brushes for the drivetrain. That helps prevent oily grit from your chain and cassette finding its way back onto the frame.
Please Note
Do not use boiling water or clean components while they're hot. Allow the bike and components to cool and use warm water only.
Always rinse away loose grit before brushing delicate finishes, and keep the brush clean to reduce the risk of scratching.
The ends of the sintered bristles may have a grey, split or slightly dusty appearance. This is part of the bristle-softening process and does not mean the brush is used or faulty.
