Description

Hide your tubeless puncture repair tools inside your handlebars.

The Muc-Off Stealth Tubeless Puncture Plug Repair Kit stores essential tubeless repair tools inside the ends of compatible handlebars, keeping them on the bike and ready when a puncture is too large for sealant to repair on its own.

CNC-machined 6061 aluminium bar ends use expanding silica plugs to secure the tools inside the handlebar. The kit includes a stainless steel puncture reamer and plug insertion tool, different-sized tyre plugs and a trimming knife, giving you the essentials needed to deal with many tubeless punctures without carrying a separate repair kit.

Why Carry a Tubeless Plug Kit?

Tubeless sealant can automatically deal with many smaller punctures, but eventually you'll find a hole that's too large for sealant alone. A tyre plug fills the opening and gives the sealant something to work around, often allowing you to reinflate the tyre and continue riding.

The advantage of the Stealth system is that the repair tools stay permanently on the bike rather than taking up space in a jersey pocket or saddle bag.

Our Thoughts

This is a clever option if you already ride tubeless and like keeping your bike free of bags and externally mounted tools. Once installed, there's very little to remember before a ride – your puncture tools are already sitting inside the bars.

We particularly like the concept for mountain biking and gravel riding, where tubeless punctures are common enough that carrying a plug kit makes sense. We'd still carry a suitable inflation method and, on longer or remote rides, a spare tube for damage that a plug can't repair.

Please Note

Check the internal dimensions and construction of your handlebars before installation. The handlebar must have sufficient straight internal space to accommodate the system.

Tubeless plugs won't repair every type of tyre damage. Large cuts, damaged sidewalls or significant tyre damage may require an inner tube, tyre boot or tyre replacement.

The trimming knife has a very sharp edge and must be used carefully. When trimming a fitted tyre plug, cut away from yourself and leave approximately 3–5mm of plug protruding from the tyre.

Muc-Off recommends a maximum pressure of 80psi when using a plug repair in a road tyre. A plugged high-pressure road tyre should be replaced once it is safe and practical to do so.
