Specialized S-Works Torch Road Shoes

Maximum Performance. Exceptional Fit. Long-Ride Comfort.

The Specialized S-Works Torch Road Shoes combine uncompromising efficiency with a remarkably natural and comfortable fit. Developed using Body Geometry principles and data gathered from more than 100,000 Retül foot scans, every part of the shoe has been refined to support the foot, improve power transfer and reduce unnecessary pressure.

A lightweight carbon sole, independently adjustable alloy BOA® dials and a carefully reinforced upper provide the secure connection needed for racing and high-intensity training. At the same time, adaptive materials allow the foot to move naturally where needed, making the S-Works Torch comfortable enough for long climbs and full days in the saddle.

Body Geometry Support

Specialized’s Body Geometry sole construction and footbeds are ergonomically designed and scientifically tested to support efficient alignment through the feet, knees and hips.

The integrated Varus Wedge, Longitudinal Arch and Metatarsal Button work together to create a stable pedalling platform, improve power transfer and help reduce pressure that can contribute to discomfort or hot spots.

A More Natural, Data-Driven Fit

Specialized used information from more than 100,000 Retül foot scans to refine the shape of the S-Works Torch. The updated last better matches the natural shape of a rider’s foot, with a more pronounced slope towards the outside for a close and secure fit.

The standard carbon base plate is 4mm wider across the ball of the foot than the previous-generation S-Works 7, providing additional room without compromising the shoe’s precise performance fit.

Dedicated Wide-Fit Construction

The wide-fit S-Works Torch uses its own carbon base plate rather than simply adding more upper material to the standard sole.

This wide base plate is 4mm wider than the current standard S-Works Torch and 8mm wider than the previous S-Works 7. This creates genuine additional room across the ball of the foot while retaining the stiffness, support and secure fit expected from an S-Works shoe.

Lightweight Carbon Sole with I-Beam Support

The carbon sole has been optimised to remove unnecessary material, reducing its weight by 20g compared with the S-Works 7 plate.

An internal I-Beam provides stiffness and structural strength without requiring additional bracing. This creates a lightweight and highly responsive platform that transfers power immediately during accelerations, climbing and sustained race efforts.

Independent BOA® Fit Adjustment

Two alloy BOA® S3-Snap dials allow independent adjustment across different areas of the foot. Each dial provides precise on-the-move micro-adjustment, making it easy to refine the fit as riding conditions change.

Updated cable routing positions the BOA® cable lower and at an angle. This improves foot retention, helps prevent lift around the ball of the foot and reduces pressure across the front of the ankle.

Adaptive Comfort with Zonal Support

The upper combines flexible zones with carefully positioned reinforcement. Adaptive materials allow natural movement where the foot needs it, while reinforced areas hold the foot securely during harder efforts.

This provides a close, supportive fit without relying on excessive tension from the closure system, helping the shoe feel secure without uncomfortable pressure or pinching.

Asymmetric Heel Support

The asymmetric heel counter provides additional support on the inside of the foot while removing unnecessary material from the outside. This supports natural knee alignment and allows a lower collar around the ankle.

Additional space around the Achilles improves comfort, while the shaped heel cup provides the positive retention needed during powerful seated and standing efforts.

Flexible Cleat Positioning

Titanium-alloy cleat nuts can rotate to provide up to 5mm of additional rearward cleat adjustment. This gives riders and bike fitters greater freedom to fine-tune cleat position according to riding style, biomechanics and personal preference.

The three-bolt mounting pattern is compatible with all major road pedal systems.

Our Thoughts on the Specialized S-Works Torch

The S-Works Torch isn’t simply designed to be extremely stiff and light. Its real strength is the way Specialized has used Retül fit data to improve the shape, support and comfort of the complete shoe. Once the fit is dialled in, the shoes feel natural, allowing you to stop thinking about your feet and focus on the ride.

The updated sole provides more room across the forefoot than the S-Works 7, while the dedicated wide-fit version offers a meaningful increase in width through the carbon base itself. That distinction is important because it creates genuine additional space rather than relying on a higher-volume upper alone.

Combined with the independently adjustable BOA® system, adaptive upper and refined heel counter, the S-Works Torch provides the secure and responsive feel expected from an elite road shoe while remaining comfortable enough for long days in the saddle.
