A comfortable everyday saddle for recreational riding, commuting and e-bikes.
The Selle Royal Freeway is designed for riders who want plenty of support and cushioning for everyday cycling. Available in Moderate and Relaxed versions, the main difference is the width and the riding position each saddle is designed around.
The Moderate has a 163mm-wide platform for riders in a slightly more forward position, while the wider 214mm Relaxed is designed for bikes where you're sitting much more upright and carrying more of your weight through the saddle.
Both versions use Selle Royal's Royalgel cushioning, which helps distribute pressure across the saddle rather than concentrating it in one area. Royal Vacuum construction seals the saddle against wet weather, while Scuff Guards protect the sides from the knocks and scrapes that happen during everyday use.

Moderate or Relaxed?
The Moderate is the one we'd look at if your riding position has you leaning slightly forward towards the handlebars. At 163mm wide, it gives you good support without putting too much saddle underneath you.
The 214mm Relaxed is quite a different saddle. It's intended for a much more upright riding position, where more of your body weight is being supported by the saddle.
Don't automatically choose the Relaxed because it's wider and looks more comfortable. A saddle that's too wide for your riding position can be just as uncomfortable as one that's too narrow.
Our Thoughts
The Freeway makes sense for riders who prioritise comfort over saving a few grams. There's plenty of cushioning, the Royal Vacuum construction is practical for a bike that's regularly left outside and the Scuff Guards are a nice touch on an everyday bike.
The important decision is choosing between Moderate and Relaxed. We'd base that on how you actually sit on your bike rather than how much padding each saddle appears to have.
If you're reasonably upright but still leaning towards the handlebars, we'd start by looking at the Moderate. The Relaxed is really for bikes that put you in a much more upright position.
