Replacement brake pads for Shimano G-type two-piston calipers.
Brakco Shimano Disc Brake Pads are available in organic e-bike/Kevlar and sintered compounds. Both use the narrow G-type pad shape found in a wide range of Shimano road, gravel, mountain bike and trekking brake calipers.
The organic version is available as a single pair or a workshop pack of 10 pairs. The sintered version is supplied as a single pair and may show as unavailable while further stock is on the way.
Choose the correct pad shape
Brake-pad compatibility is determined by the caliper model and pad shape, not simply by the bike or brake brand. These pads suit selected Shimano two-piston calipers that use the narrow G-type shape, including brakes commonly fitted with Shimano G03, G04 or G05 pads.
Check the model number printed or stamped on your brake caliper before ordering. If you are unsure, compare the shape with your existing pads or bring the bike or old pads into our Christchurch workshop.

Organic e-bike/Kevlar compound
The organic compound is reinforced with Kevlar and designed to provide strong initial bite with predictable modulation. It generally runs more quietly than a sintered pad and is a good option for commuting, trail riding, gravel and e-bike use.
Choose organic if you value quiet braking, a responsive lever feel and good everyday performance. Organic pads can wear faster in consistently wet or gritty conditions.
Sintered compound
The sintered option is designed for greater durability and improved resistance to heat and wet-weather wear. It is the better choice for long descents, heavier riders, e-bikes and regular riding in muddy or abrasive conditions.
Sintered pads may produce more noise and can feel less immediate when cold, but they generally last longer under demanding use. Check that your rotor is approved for metal or sintered pads before fitting them.
Key features
- Organic e-bike/Kevlar and sintered compound options
- Narrow G-type shape for compatible Shimano two-piston calipers
- Organic compound provides quiet braking and good modulation
- Sintered compound provides increased durability and heat resistance
- Organic option available as one pair or 10 pairs
- Sintered option supplied as one pair
Fitting and bedding-in
Check the rotor for excessive wear, scoring or contamination before installing new pads. Clean it with a suitable disc-brake cleaner and avoid touching the braking surface or pad material with bare hands.
New pads should be bedded in using repeated controlled stops before hard riding. This transfers a consistent layer of pad material onto the rotor and allows the brake to develop its proper power and feel.
Our thoughts
These pads cover one of Shimano’s most widely used two-piston pad shapes. We would choose organic for quieter everyday braking and sintered for wet conditions, long descents or bikes that are harder on their brakes. Whichever compound you choose, confirm the caliper number and rotor compatibility first.
