Replacement brake pads for Shimano Saint and Zee four-piston brakes.
Brakco Shimano Saint and Zee Disc Brake Pads are available in organic e-bike/Kevlar and sintered compounds. They fit selected Shimano gravity brake calipers used for trail, enduro, downhill and e-bike riding.
Both compounds use the Brakco BP-43 pad shape. Choose the compound that best suits your riding conditions, braking demands and rotor compatibility.
Compatible Shimano brake calipers
- Shimano Saint BR-M810
- Shimano Saint BR-M820
- Shimano Zee BR-M640
Check the pad shape before ordering
Brake-pad compatibility is determined by the caliper model and pad shape, not simply by the Shimano name. These pads are designed for the four-piston Saint and Zee calipers listed above. They are not interchangeable with Shimano two-piston G-type pads.
Check the model number printed or stamped on your brake caliper and compare the shape with your existing pads before ordering. If you are unsure, bring the bike or old pads into our Christchurch workshop and we can help identify the correct replacement.
Organic e-bike/Kevlar compound
The organic option uses a Kevlar-reinforced, high-friction compound designed to provide strong initial bite and predictable modulation. It generally operates more quietly than a sintered pad and is a good choice for everyday trail riding, commuting and e-bikes.
Organic pads can wear faster in consistently wet, muddy or abrasive conditions, particularly when used for repeated long descents.
Sintered compound
The sintered option provides greater resistance to heat and wet-weather wear. It is better suited to downhill riding, long descents, heavier riders and e-bikes that place higher loads on the braking system.
Sintered pads may be noisier and can take longer to reach their best braking feel, but they generally last longer under demanding conditions. Check that your brake rotor is approved for metal or sintered pads before fitting them.
Key features
- Organic e-bike/Kevlar and sintered compound options
- Fits selected Shimano Saint and Zee four-piston brakes
- Organic compound provides strong initial bite and good modulation
- Sintered compound provides increased durability and heat resistance
- Supplied as one complete pad set for one brake caliper
Fitting and bedding-in
Inspect the rotor for wear, scoring and contamination before fitting new pads. Clean it with a suitable disc-brake cleaner and avoid touching the braking surfaces with bare hands.
Bed new pads in with a series of controlled stops before riding at full speed. This transfers a consistent layer of pad material onto the rotor and allows the brake to develop its proper power and feel.
Our thoughts
Saint and Zee brakes are built for hard riding, so compound choice matters. We would use organic pads where quiet braking and modulation are the priority, and sintered pads for wet conditions, long descents or bikes that regularly generate more brake heat.
