Specialized Riprock 24 2026
Description

Freedom is the absence of fear. And fearlessly riding requires a bike that can handle your kid’s imagination. It’s why we designed Riprock to be a mountain bike inclusive of all the features needed for superior ripping—like modern geometry, Ground Control tires, hydraulic disc brakes, and internally routed cables. Finally, we threw in a wider-range drivetrain, making Riprock the perfect bike to inspire young riders to climb higher and tackle the downhills freely. Kids can’t confidently ride if they’re not riding comfortably. With Riprock, fit comes first. We used data to reimagine everything from how they grip to how they sit to create a bike specifically and proportionally for kids. We did all this because comfort creates confidence. And more confidence always leads to more fearless riding. Kids’-specific updates and features inspire confidence. A 130mm Bridge saddle, a narrower Q factor, and shorter cranks offer improved alignment between the hip, knee, and ankle to decrease the risk of injury and make your little one more comfy. Narrow grips and updated frame geometry offer improved handling, inspiring riders to ride more.

A lightweight package with an updated frame and wide-range drivetrain creates the perfect bike to tackle climbs easily.

Trail riding starts here. Inspired by Specialized’s heritage in mountain bike design, the Riprock offers modern MTB features such as a slack head tube angle, internally routed cables, hydraulic disc brakes, and Ground Control tires

Sizing Information

Specialized Riprock 24 Size Guide

The Specialized Riprock 24 is designed for young riders who are ready for a capable geared mountain bike. Its child-specific frame, controls and components help provide a comfortable riding position without making the bike feel oversized or difficult to manage.

Rider HeightApproximate AgeBike SizeWheel Size119–142cm7–11 yearsOne Size24-inch

Is the Riprock 24 the Right Size?

The rider should be able to:

  • Stand comfortably over the frame
  • Reach the handlebars without stretching
  • Operate both brake levers confidently
  • Use the gear shifter without moving their hand excessively
  • Start, stop and turn the bike without assistance
  • Maintain a slight bend in the knee at the bottom of the pedal stroke

The Riprock 24 has a 593mm standover height. There should be comfortable clearance between the rider and the frame when standing over the bike.

Height Is More Important Than Age

The age range is only a general guide. Children of the same age can vary considerably in height, leg length and riding confidence, so we recommend choosing the bike primarily according to the rider’s height and inside-leg measurement.

What If the Rider Is Between the Riprock 20 and Riprock 24?

The size ranges overlap, so riders between approximately 119 and 133cm may fit either model.

Choose the Riprock 20 if the rider:

  • Is less confident or relatively new to cycling
  • Has a shorter inside-leg measurement
  • Would benefit from a smaller, easier-to-handle bike
  • Cannot comfortably stand over the Riprock 24

Choose the Riprock 24 if the rider:

  • Can comfortably stand over the frame
  • Can reach and operate the brakes and gears
  • Is already riding confidently
  • Would benefit from the smoother rolling and additional room of 24-inch wheels

Avoid buying a bike that is too large simply to allow room for growth. A correctly sized bike will be easier to control and more enjoyable to ride.

Need Help Choosing the Right Size?

Contact the Chain Reaction team with the rider’s height and inside-leg measurement. We can help confirm whether the Riprock 24 is the right choice before you order.

Every Riprock purchased from Chain Reaction is professionally assembled and safety checked, with the saddle height and controls adjusted to suit the rider.

This sizing information applies to the 2026 Specialized Riprock 24, part number 96526-8324. Rider height is the best starting point, but leg length, proportions and riding confidence should also be considered.
