Specialized Rockhopper Sport 2027
Description

Specialized Rockhopper Sport 2027

The Specialized Rockhopper Sport is an accessible and capable mountain bike for riders starting out on trails, building fitness or wanting a dependable bike for recreation. Its lightweight A1 aluminium frame, size-specific SR Suntour suspension, microSHIFT Advent 1 x 9 drivetrain and Shimano hydraulic disc brakes provide the control and simplicity needed for confident off-road riding.

Lightweight A1 Aluminium Frame

The Premium A1 aluminium frame uses butted tubing and hydroformed profiles to balance strength with manageable weight. Increased standover clearance makes the bike easier to handle, while internal cable routing gives it a clean appearance.

Stealth rack mounts and dropper-post compatibility also allow the Rockhopper Sport to be adapted for commuting, longer adventures or more technical riding.

Wheel Sizes Matched to the Rider

Specialized matches the wheel size to the frame size rather than forcing every rider onto the same wheel format. Smaller frames use proportionally appropriate wheels for easier handling and suitable standover clearance, while larger frames benefit from the rollover ability of 29-inch wheels.

This helps maintain balanced handling and fit throughout the Rockhopper size range.

Size-Specific SR Suntour Suspension

The SR Suntour XCM fork uses Specialized’s Rx Tune with size-specific travel and spring rates. This helps maintain consistent handling and suspension performance for riders of different heights.

Depending on frame size, the fork provides 90mm or 100mm of travel. A lockout allows riders to firm the fork when riding on smoother roads or climbing out of the saddle.

Simple microSHIFT Advent Drivetrain

The microSHIFT Advent 1 x 9 drivetrain keeps gear selection straightforward by removing the need for a front derailleur. Its wide-range 11–46T cassette provides useful climbing gears while retaining enough range for recreational and fitness riding.

A clutch-equipped rear derailleur helps control chain movement over rough terrain, creating a quieter ride and reducing the chance of dropping the chain.

Shimano Hydraulic Disc Brakes

Shimano BR-MT200 hydraulic disc brakes provide predictable stopping power with an intuitive lever feel. The 180mm front and rear rotors offer useful control on steep descents and in wet conditions.

Hydraulic operation requires less hand effort than mechanical disc brakes, helping new riders feel more confident when controlling their speed.

Strong Trail-Ready Wheels

The Specialized double-wall alloy rims have a 25mm internal width, providing stable support for the 2.35-inch Ground Control tyres. Sealed-bearing hubs help protect the wheel bearings from dirt and moisture.

Ground Control T5 tyres provide a versatile balance of rolling speed, braking grip and cornering traction across hardpack and mixed trail surfaces.
