The Specialized S-Works Ares 2 LTD – Built for Legends is a limited-edition road shoe for racers wanting a locked-in feel without excessive pressure across the forefoot.

It combines the wider Body Geometry Natural Last, dual BOA Li2 adjustment and a stiff unidirectional carbon outsole. The custom-painted carbon outsole matches the limited Built for Legends Tarmac and is being produced only once.

Secure and Comfortable Race Fit

The Body Geometry Natural Last provides more room through the forefoot than the previous Ares shape. Specialized testing found that it reduced forefoot pressure by 44%, while the redesigned closure increased contact area by 20% to spread tension more evenly across the foot.

An enlarged heel counter helps prevent heel lift during sprints, hard accelerations and out-of-saddle climbing.

Dual BOA Li2 Adjustment

Two BOA Li2 dials provide precise, two-way adjustment, allowing each section of the shoe to be tightened or released while riding. The wrap-style upper conforms closely to the foot without relying on excessive dial tension.

The fit should feel firm through the heel and midfoot while leaving enough room for your toes to sit naturally. We recommend trying the shoes on rather than ordering solely from the size of an older model.

Body Geometry Support

Specialized’s Body Geometry design combines a Varus Wedge, Longitudinal Arch and Metatarsal Button to support foot alignment, reduce arch collapse and relieve pressure around sensitive nerves and arteries.

Specialized reports a seven-watt power increase from the complete Body Geometry system in its testing. Individual results will vary according to the rider, shoe fit, footbed and pedalling mechanics.

The shoes are compatible with Body Geometry SL Footbeds Gen 2, allowing the level of arch support to be matched more closely to the rider.
