Specialized Stumpjumper 15 EVO Alloy 2026
Description

Specialized Stumpjumper 15 Alloy 2026

The Specialized Stumpjumper 15 Alloy is a versatile full-suspension trail bike built for riders who want confidence on rough descents without giving up efficient climbing or responsive handling. Its M5 aluminium frame, adjustable geometry, 145mm of rear travel and 150–160mm RockShox fork make it capable enough for technical terrain while remaining practical for everyday trail riding.

Capable M5 Aluminium Frame

The M5 aluminium chassis provides a strong and dependable foundation for regular trail riding. Specialized has tuned the complete frame structure to deliver the support needed for precise handling without making the bike unnecessarily harsh over rough ground.

The frame uses sealed cartridge-bearing pivots, a threaded bottom bracket and SRAM UDH compatibility. These practical standards simplify servicing and make replacement parts easier to source.

Balanced Trail Suspension

The Stumpjumper 15 Alloy combines 145mm of rear-wheel travel with a RockShox Psylo Silver fork. Size S1 receives 150mm of fork travel, while sizes S2 to S6 use 160mm.

The Psylo’s Motion Control damper helps keep the front wheel composed through repeated impacts. At the rear, the Ride Dynamics tuned X-Fusion 02 Pro RL shock provides rebound adjustment and a lockout for smoother climbs and connecting roads.

Adjustable Trail Geometry

The Stumpjumper 15 Alloy offers six geometry settings, allowing riders to adjust the head angle and bottom-bracket height. A lower and slacker setup adds stability on steep or fast terrain, while a higher position provides additional pedal clearance and more responsive handling.

This adjustability allows the same bike to suit different trails and riding preferences without requiring major component changes.

SRAM NX Eagle Gearing

The SRAM NX Eagle 1 x 12 drivetrain provides a broad 11–50T gear range for climbing, descending and longer trail rides. Its single-chainring layout keeps shifting straightforward while removing the weight and complexity of a front derailleur.

SRAM DUB cranks and a threaded DUB bottom bracket provide a practical setup that is familiar to service and maintain.

Confident Four-Piston Braking

SRAM DB6 hydraulic disc brakes use four-piston calipers to provide the control needed on steep and sustained descents. Their strong braking performance allows riders to manage speed with less effort at the lever, particularly when the trail becomes rough or slippery.

Trail Storage and Size-Specific Setup

Internal SWAT downtube storage provides space for tools, a tube and other trail essentials without requiring a separate frame bag. It is a genuinely useful feature for everyday trail riding, especially when you want to ride without a backpack.

Wheel size, handlebar dimensions, saddle width, crank length and dropper travel vary according to frame size. This helps each version of the bike feel properly proportioned for its intended rider.

Why Riders Love the Specialized Stumpjumper 15 Alloy

The Specialized Stumpjumper 15 Alloy is an excellent choice for riders wanting one dependable bike for local trail networks, all-day adventures and more technical terrain. It combines useful adjustability with practical components and the durability of an aluminium frame.

Balanced Trail Performance

The combination of 145mm rear travel and a longer fork provides plenty of control on rough terrain without making the bike feel excessive on everyday trails.

Confident Handling

Modern geometry and a generous cockpit keep the rider centred between the wheels, improving traction and control through corners and steep sections.

Adjustable Ride Feel

Six geometry settings allow riders to prioritise descending stability, responsive handling or additional ground clearance.

Straightforward Suspension

The RockShox fork and X-Fusion shock provide useful adjustments without requiring an overly complicated setup process.

Practical Gearing

SRAM NX Eagle offers a broad range of gears and simple mechanical operation, with no batteries or electronic controls to manage.

Useful Frame Storage

The internal SWAT compartment provides convenient space for tools and essential spares, reducing the need to carry a pack on shorter rides.

Long-Term Upgrade Potential

Tubeless-ready wheels, UDH compatibility, adjustable geometry and modern Boost spacing provide a solid platform for future upgrades.

Who Is This Bike For?

Perfect For

✔ Everyday trail riding
✔ Technical singletrack
✔ Steep and rough descents
✔ All-day trail adventures
✔ Riders progressing from a hardtail
✔ Riders wanting adjustable geometry
✔ Riders who prefer an aluminium frame
✔ Anyone wanting a capable mechanical drivetrain

Our Thoughts on the Specialized Stumpjumper 15 Alloy

The Stumpjumper 15 Alloy is the no-fuss option in the range. You still get the adjustable geometry and practical frame features found on the more expensive models, but with a solid build that is easy to own, maintain and upgrade.

The RockShox Psylo fork and X-Fusion rear shock are well suited to everyday trail riding, while the SRAM NX drivetrain is proven and straightforward to service. SRAM DB6 four-piston brakes provide the stopping power you want when the trails get faster and steeper.

At 16.79kg, it isn’t the lightest Stumpjumper, but it feels solid and ready to take some punishment. If you want a capable full-suspension trail bike without paying extra for a carbon frame or electronic gears, the Stumpjumper 15 Alloy is a very good place to start.

Sizing Information

Specialized Stumpjumper 15 Size Guide

The Stumpjumper 15 uses Specialized’s S-Sizing system. Instead of choosing a frame from height alone, S-Sizing allows many riders to choose between two sizes depending on whether they prefer a more agile bike or greater stability at speed.

Rider Height Recommended Size Traditional Equivalent Wheel Setup

S1 XS Mixed 29"/27.5"157–173cm

S2 Small Mixed 29"/27.5"165–180cm

S3 Medium 29-inch 173–188cm

S4 Large 29-inch 178–193cm

S5 XL29-inch 188–203cmS6XXL29-inch

How Specialized S-Sizing Works

The height ranges intentionally overlap. This gives many riders the option of choosing between two frame sizes based on their proportions, local terrain and preferred handling.

As a general starting point:

  • S1 is similar to a traditional Extra Small
  • S2 is similar to a traditional Small
  • S3 is similar to a traditional Medium
  • S4 is similar to a traditional Large
  • S5 is similar to a traditional Extra Large
  • S6 is similar to a traditional Extra Extra Large

Choose the Smaller Size If You Want:

  • Quicker and more responsive handling
  • A bike that is easier to move around on
  • More confidence through tight corners
  • A more playful feel on jumps and technical sections
  • A shorter and more compact riding position

Choose the Larger Size If You Want:

  • More stability at speed
  • A roomier riding position
  • Greater confidence through rough or steep terrain
  • A longer wheelbase for high-speed descending
  • More space for riders with longer arms or torsos

What If You Are Between Sizes?

If you sit within the overlap between two sizes, consider your body proportions as well as your riding style.

Riders with a longer torso or arms may feel more comfortable on the larger size. Riders with shorter arms, a shorter torso or a preference for agile handling may be better suited to the smaller option.

For example, a 178cm rider could potentially choose an S3, S4 or S5:

  • S3 will feel compact and manoeuvrable
  • S4 will provide the most balanced all-round fit
  • S5 will feel longer and more stable at speed

Most riders should begin with the middle or traditionally equivalent size unless they have a clear preference for a more agile or more stable bike.

Wheel Size and Frame Size

The S1 and S2 use a mixed-wheel setup, with a 29-inch front wheel and 27.5-inch rear wheel. This provides the rollover ability of a larger front wheel while keeping the rear of the bike compact and easy to manoeuvre.

Sizes S3 through S6 use 29-inch wheels front and rear for stability, momentum and smoother performance over rough ground.

Standover height is useful, but it should not be used as the only measurement when choosing a Stumpjumper. Reach, arm length, riding position and handling preference are equally important.

Need Help Choosing Your Stumpjumper Size?

Contact the Chain Reaction team with your height, inside-leg measurement and current bike size. Let us know whether you prefer a more agile bike or greater stability, and we can help narrow down the best S-Size before you order.

This guide applies to the 2026 Specialized Stumpjumper 15 range. It is intended as a starting point, as rider proportions, terrain and handling preferences can affect the best size.
