Specialized Stumpjumper 15 EVO Comp - FACT 11m carbon, FOX Performance w/ GENIE, S1000 Eagle AXS
Description

Specialized Stumpjumper 15 EVO Comp

FACT 11m Carbon | FOX 36 Rhythm | GENIE Suspension | SRAM S1000 Eagle AXS

The Specialized Stumpjumper 15 EVO Comp is a versatile carbon trail bike for riders who want greater control on rough descents without giving up responsive handling or climbing efficiency. Its FACT 11m carbon frame, 145mm of GENIE-controlled rear travel, FOX 36 Rhythm fork and SRAM S1000 AXS Transmission make it well suited to technical singletrack, long trail rides and increasingly demanding terrain.

Lightweight FACT 11m Carbon Frame

The FACT 11m carbon chassis and rear end reduce weight while providing the strength and stiffness required for technical trail riding. At a claimed 15.14kg in size S4, the Stumpjumper 15 EVO Comp remains manageable on climbs while feeling solid and composed through rough sections.

A threaded bottom bracket, sealed cartridge-bearing pivots and SRAM UDH compatibility create a practical platform for regular riding and straightforward servicing. Internal brake and dropper routing keeps the frame tidy without routing everything through the headset.

FOX 36 Rhythm Control

The FOX FLOAT 36 Rhythm fork provides 150mm of travel on size S1 and 160mm on sizes S2 to S6. Its sturdy 36mm chassis improves steering accuracy and support when braking hard or riding through steep and rough terrain.

The GRIP damper and two-position Sweep adjustment make it straightforward to tune the fork without requiring an overly complicated setup.

GENIE Suspension Performance

The FOX FLOAT X Performance shock uses Specialized GENIE technology to provide a supple feel through the early and middle parts of its travel. This helps the rear wheel follow roots, rocks and braking bumps, improving traction and reducing fatigue.

As the shock moves deeper into its travel, the spring rate becomes more progressive to provide support through larger compressions and reduce harsh bottom-outs. A two-position lever and low-speed rebound adjustment provide practical tuning for different terrain.

Adjustable Trail Geometry

The Stumpjumper 15 EVO offers six geometry configurations through its adjustable head angle and bottom-bracket height. Riders can select a lower and slacker setup for greater stability on steep terrain or a higher position for additional pedal clearance and more responsive handling.

Compatible aftermarket shock links also allow the bike to use matching 29-inch wheels or a mixed-wheel setup with a 27.5-inch rear wheel while maintaining its intended geometry.

SRAM S1000 Eagle AXS Transmission

The SRAM S1000 Eagle AXS rear derailleur provides wireless electronic shifting through an AXS Pod controller. Its full-mount T-Type design is built to shift accurately under load, while the wide-range 10–52T cassette provides suitable gearing for steep climbs and faster trail sections.

The removable AXS battery makes charging straightforward, while the direct-mount derailleur removes the need for a conventional hanger.

Powerful Maven Braking

SRAM Maven Bronze four-piston brakes provide strong braking performance for steep and sustained descents. A 200mm front rotor delivers dependable speed control, while the rear uses a 180mm rotor on S1–S2 and a 200mm rotor on S3–S6.

Their high braking power reduces the effort required at the lever, helping riders maintain control and reduce hand fatigue on longer descents.

Why Riders Love the Specialized Stumpjumper 15 EVO Comp

The Specialized Stumpjumper 15 EVO Comp is an excellent choice for riders who want one premium trail bike for everyday singletrack, technical descents and long days on varied terrain. It combines a lightweight carbon frame with genuinely useful suspension, braking and drivetrain technology without moving into flagship pricing.

Balanced Trail Performance

The combination of 145mm rear travel and a 160mm fork provides the control needed for rough terrain while retaining the responsive and efficient character expected from a Stumpjumper.

Lightweight Carbon Construction

The FACT 11m carbon chassis makes the bike easier to accelerate, change direction and pedal over longer distances than a comparable aluminium build.

GENIE Suspension

The GENIE-equipped rear shock improves sensitivity and traction through smaller impacts while providing progressive support deeper in the travel.

Wireless Shifting

SRAM S1000 Eagle AXS provides precise electronic shifting without a cable running between the handlebar controller and rear derailleur.

Adjustable Handling

Six geometry settings allow riders to prioritise stability, agility or additional pedal clearance according to their terrain.

Confident Braking

Maven four-piston brakes and appropriately sized rotors provide the control needed for steep, fast and sustained descents.

Useful Frame Storage

✔ Steep and rough descents
✔ Long rides across varied terrain

✔ Riders progressing towards more demanding trails
✔ Riders who value adjustable geometry
✔ Riders wanting wireless SRAM AXS shifting
✔ Anyone wanting premium performance without flagship pricing

Our Thoughts on the Specialized Stumpjumper 15 EVO Comp

The Stumpjumper 15 EVO Comp is one of the most sensible carbon builds in the range. The FACT 11m frame provides a useful weight saving over the alloy models, while the FOX 36 Rhythm and GENIE-equipped FLOAT X shock give it the control needed for proper technical trail riding.

The S1000 Eagle AXS drivetrain adds clean wireless shifting, and the Maven brakes are a worthwhile inclusion for riders tackling steeper terrain. The Specialized alloy wheels are dependable rather than exotic, but they are tubeless ready and provide an obvious upgrade opportunity later.

For riders who want the capability and adjustability of the EVO platform without paying for high-end suspension dampers or carbon wheels, the Comp offers a very well-balanced package. It is ready for demanding trails from the outset and has a frame worth upgrading over time.

Sizing Information

Specialized Stumpjumper 15 Size Guide

The Stumpjumper 15 uses Specialized’s S-Sizing system. Instead of choosing a frame from height alone, S-Sizing allows many riders to choose between two sizes depending on whether they prefer a more agile bike or greater stability at speed.

Rider Height Recommended Size Traditional Equivalent Wheel Setup

S1 XS Mixed 29"/27.5"157–173cm

S2 Small Mixed 29"/27.5"165–180cm

S3 Medium 29-inch 173–188cm

S4 Large 29-inch 178–193cm

S5 XL29-inch 188–203cmS6XXL29-inch

How Specialized S-Sizing Works

The height ranges intentionally overlap. This gives many riders the option of choosing between two frame sizes based on their proportions, local terrain and preferred handling.

As a general starting point:

  • S1 is similar to a traditional Extra Small
  • S2 is similar to a traditional Small
  • S3 is similar to a traditional Medium
  • S4 is similar to a traditional Large
  • S5 is similar to a traditional Extra Large
  • S6 is similar to a traditional Extra Extra Large

Choose the Smaller Size If You Want:

  • Quicker and more responsive handling
  • A bike that is easier to move around on
  • More confidence through tight corners
  • A more playful feel on jumps and technical sections
  • A shorter and more compact riding position

Choose the Larger Size If You Want:

  • More stability at speed
  • A roomier riding position
  • Greater confidence through rough or steep terrain
  • A longer wheelbase for high-speed descending
  • More space for riders with longer arms or torsos

What If You Are Between Sizes?

If you sit within the overlap between two sizes, consider your body proportions as well as your riding style.

Riders with a longer torso or arms may feel more comfortable on the larger size. Riders with shorter arms, a shorter torso or a preference for agile handling may be better suited to the smaller option.

For example, a 178cm rider could potentially choose an S3, S4 or S5:

  • S3 will feel compact and manoeuvrable
  • S4 will provide the most balanced all-round fit
  • S5 will feel longer and more stable at speed

Most riders should begin with the middle or traditionally equivalent size unless they have a clear preference for a more agile or more stable bike.

Wheel Size and Frame Size

The S1 and S2 use a mixed-wheel setup, with a 29-inch front wheel and 27.5-inch rear wheel. This provides the rollover ability of a larger front wheel while keeping the rear of the bike compact and easy to manoeuvre.

Sizes S3 through S6 use 29-inch wheels front and rear for stability, momentum and smoother performance over rough ground.

Standover height is useful, but it should not be used as the only measurement when choosing a Stumpjumper. Reach, arm length, riding position and handling preference are equally important.

Need Help Choosing Your Stumpjumper Size?

Contact the Chain Reaction team with your height, inside-leg measurement and current bike size. Let us know whether you prefer a more agile bike or greater stability, and we can help narrow down the best S-Size before you order.

Every Stumpjumper purchased from Chain Reaction is professionally assembled and safety checked, with expert suspension and setup advice available.

This guide applies to the 2026 Specialized Stumpjumper 15 range. It is intended as a starting point, as rider proportions, terrain and handling preferences can affect the best size.
