A durable 10-speed cassette with proven SRAM PowerGlide II shifting.
The SRAM PG-1030 is a straightforward, dependable replacement cassette for compatible 10-speed drivetrains. It is available in several gear ranges, making it suitable for road bikes, recreational bikes and mountain bikes that need a wider spread of gears.
SRAM’s PowerGlide II tooth profiles and shift ramps help the chain move cleanly between sprockets for positive and consistent shifting. A nickel chrome finish provides good wear resistance, making the PG-1030 a practical choice for bikes that see plenty of regular use.

Choosing the Right Ratio
If you are replacing a worn cassette and you are happy with your current gearing, the easiest option is usually to replace it with the same ratio.
An 11-28T cassette provides closer steps between gears but has a harder lowest gear for climbing. Moving to an 11-32T or 11-36T gives you an easier climbing gear, although there will be slightly larger jumps between some gears.
Before changing to a wider-range cassette, check that your rear derailleur can accommodate the larger sprocket and has enough total capacity for your drivetrain.
Why Choose the SRAM PG-1030?
The PG-1030 makes sense if you have a good 10-speed bike that does not need anything particularly exotic. It is durable, shifts well and gives you several gearing options depending on where and how you ride.
For a commuter, recreational bike, older mountain bike or compatible 10-speed road setup, it is a solid replacement when the original cassette is worn.
Our Thoughts
The main thing we recommend with the PG-1030 is getting the gearing right rather than automatically buying the widest-range option.
If you regularly run out of gears on climbs, moving from an 11-28T to an 11-32T or 11-36T can make a noticeable difference. Just check the rear derailleur’s maximum sprocket size and total capacity before making the change.
If you are replacing the cassette because the drivetrain is worn, check the chain at the same time. A badly worn chain can quickly damage a new cassette, while fitting a new chain to a heavily worn cassette can result in skipping under load.
