Stan’s Biobased Drivetrain Cleaner cuts through grease, grit and built-up grime across road, gravel, mountain, commuter and e-bike drivetrains. Its spray trigger helps the cleaner reach between cassette sprockets, chain links and other difficult areas.
The clear, odourless formula is plant-based, biodegradable and made without added dyes or fragrances. It is also free from PFAS and PTFE.
Strong on Grime, Gentle on Bike Finishes
The cleaner is suitable for use around common bike materials including carbon fibre, paint, anodised finishes, plastics and rubber seals. It is designed to loosen oily drivetrain contamination without relying on harsh petroleum-based solvents.
Avoid contact with disc brake rotors and brake pads. Cover or remove the rear wheel when cleaning a particularly dirty drivetrain if there is a risk of overspray reaching the braking surfaces.
How to Use
- Protect the disc rotors and brake pads from overspray.
- Spray the cleaner onto the chain, cassette, chainring and derailleur pulleys.
- Allow it a short time to loosen the grime without letting it dry.
- Agitate stubborn buildup with a drivetrain brush.
- Rinse thoroughly with low-pressure water.
- Dry the drivetrain and apply fresh chain lubricant.
When cleaning an e-bike, switch it off and avoid spraying electrical connections, charging ports, displays or motor seals directly.

Our Thoughts
This is the cleaner to use when ordinary bike wash is not shifting the oily buildup around the chain and cassette. Give it time to work, use a proper drivetrain brush and rinse it away before it dries. Once everything is clean and dry, remember to re-lubricate the chain.
