Stan’s Biobased Grease is an all-purpose bicycle assembly and bearing grease for workshops and home mechanics. It provides durable lubrication and corrosion protection across bearings, bushings, wheel components, headsets and other suitable moving parts.
The biodegradable, non-toxic formula is safe for rubber and elastomers. Its broad operating range of -40°C to 120°C makes it suitable for year-round bicycle maintenance in a wide range of conditions.
All-Purpose Workshop Use
The waterproof formula helps protect components from moisture and corrosion while maintaining smooth movement between serviced parts. It can be used for suitable hub bearings, headset bearings, suspension pivots, bushings, pedal threads and general assembly work.
Always follow the component manufacturer’s service instructions. Some parts require a specific lubricant, carbon assembly paste, thread-locking compound or dry installation rather than general-purpose grease.

Application Advice
Clean away old grease, dirt and moisture before applying a fresh, even layer. Use only as much as the component requires and wipe away excess after assembly.
Keep grease away from brake rotors, brake pads and rim-braking surfaces. Do not use it on carbon clamping surfaces where the component manufacturer specifies carbon assembly paste.
Our Thoughts
This is a useful general workshop grease for most routine bike maintenance. The 100g size will suit most home mechanics, while the larger 450g tub makes more sense for a busy workshop. As always, check the component instructions before assuming a general-purpose grease is appropriate.
