The Tifosi Rail is an oversized rimless cycling glass designed to provide broad eye protection without surrounding the lens with a bulky frame. The open design and vented lens allow plenty of air to move through, making the Rail a strong option for long road rides, gravel riding and warmer days on the mountain bike.
Several lens systems are available, including interchangeable lenses and Fototec light-responsive options. Check the selected variant carefully, as the frame colour and included lens system vary.
Choose the Right Lens
- Blackout with Smoke, AC Red and Clear lenses: Three interchangeable lenses covering bright, overcast and low-light conditions
- Clarion Red Fototec: A light-responsive lens that changes tint with available light and has a water and sweat-repellent Clarion coating
- Clarion Blue Fototec: A light-responsive mirrored lens that changes tint with available light and has a water and sweat-repellent Clarion coating
The interchangeable version provides the widest range of clearly defined lens choices, while Fototec is more convenient when conditions change during the ride. Fototec lenses respond to UV light, so they may not darken fully behind a vehicle windscreen.
Oversized Rimless Shield
The large shield lens provides broad coverage from wind, insects, dust and loose trail debris. With no lower frame around the lens, the Rail also gives you a clear view when looking down the road, into a corner or towards your bike computer.
The rimless construction keeps the glasses feeling open despite their size. Riders who prefer less lens coverage or need a smaller fit may find the Rail XC more suitable.
Airflow for Harder Rides
Vents across the lens encourage air to move behind the glasses, while the open lower edge gives warm air and moisture somewhere to escape. This helps reduce fogging when climbing or riding at lower speeds.
No glasses will remain completely fog-free in every combination of temperature, humidity and effort, but the Rail’s vented rimless design provides better airflow than a fully enclosed frame.
Fully Adjustable Fit
The nosepiece and earpieces can be shaped to suit your face and riding position. This also helps when matching the glasses with a helmet, as the arms can be adjusted to avoid unnecessary pressure against the retention system.
Hydrophilic rubber contact points increase their grip as they become wet, helping the glasses stay stable when you are sweating. The Rail has a large-to-extra-large fit, so it is best suited to riders wanting a generous frame and plenty of lens coverage.
Lightweight TR-90 Frame
The Grilamid TR-90 frame is light, flexible and durable. At approximately 32g, the Rail remains comfortable for long rides despite the size of its shield lens.
Polycarbonate Lens Protection
The shatter-resistant polycarbonate lens provides 100% UVA and UVB protection. Its optically decentered construction helps reduce distortion across the large shield, while Tifosi’s Glare Guard treatment helps reduce eye strain in bright conditions.
The glasses are supplied with a zippered hard case and microfibre cleaning bag for transport and lens care.

Who Are These Glasses For?
The Rail suits road, gravel and mountain bike riders wanting a large shield lens, strong airflow and a fully adjustable fit. The generous coverage is particularly useful for fast road riding, open gravel roads and dusty trails.
It is a large-to-extra-large design. Riders with smaller or narrower faces should consider the Rail XC, which offers a similar rimless shape in a more compact fit.
Our Thoughts
The Rail makes sense for riders who like the coverage of a large shield but do not want a full frame around the lens. The view is open, there is plenty of airflow and the adjustable nosepiece and earpieces make it easier to get the glasses sitting properly with a helmet.
The three-lens version is the practical choice if you ride in very different conditions and do not mind swapping lenses. Fototec is easier when a ride moves between open roads, shaded trails and changing weather because there is no need to stop and change the lens.
Fit is the main thing we would check. The Rail is deliberately generous, so riders with smaller faces will generally be better served by the Rail XC. Whichever model you choose, make sure the arms sit comfortably beneath your helmet retention system and the top of the lens does not obstruct your view in your normal riding position.
