Adaptive Sports Sunglasses with Built-In Readers
The Tifosi Rivet Reader combines lightweight sports eyewear with a magnified reader section at the bottom of each lens. It is a practical option for riders who can see the road clearly but need help reading a bike computer, phone, map or other close-up detail.
The Clarion Red Fototec lenses change tint as the available light changes, while the vented half-frame design, adjustable fit and hydrophilic rubber help keep the glasses comfortable during longer rides and other active use.
Choose the Right Reader Strength
- +1.5: Lower magnification for riders who only need a small amount of assistance with close-up information.
- +2.0: Stronger magnification for riders who need more help reading smaller numbers and text.
Choose the strength that most closely matches the reading glasses you normally use. If you are unsure or have more complex vision requirements, check with your optometrist before ordering.
Built-In Reader Magnification
A small magnified area is positioned at the bottom of each lens. Looking straight ahead gives you a clear, non-magnified view, while glancing down lets you read your bike computer or other close-range information without changing glasses.
It can take a little time to become familiar with the change between the main lens and reader section. We recommend trying the glasses somewhere safe before using them while riding.
Clarion Red Fototec Lens
The Clarion Red Fototec lens changes tint in response to ultraviolet light. It remains lighter in dull conditions and darkens as the sunlight becomes stronger, making it useful for rides that move between open roads, shaded sections and changing weather.
The Clarion mirror coating helps repel water and sweat. Like other photochromic lenses, the amount and speed of tint change depend on temperature, UV exposure and conditions.
Fototec lenses may not darken fully behind a vehicle windscreen because the glass blocks much of the UV light needed to activate them.
Adjustable, Secure Fit
The nosepiece and earpieces can be adjusted to suit different face shapes and wearing positions. Hydrophilic rubber becomes grippier as you perspire, helping the glasses stay in place without needing excessive pressure around your head.
The lightweight Grilamid TR-90 frame and vented half-frame construction help keep the Rivet Readers comfortable during longer rides, runs or rounds of golf.
Polycarbonate Lens Protection
The shatter-resistant polycarbonate lenses provide full UVA and UVB protection while helping protect your eyes from wind and light debris.
The lenses are durable but should still be treated carefully. Rinse away dust and grit before cleaning them with the supplied microfibre bag.

Who Are the Tifosi Rivet Readers For?
The Rivet Readers suit cyclists, runners, golfers and other active users who have good distance vision but need magnification for close-up information. They are particularly useful for reading a GPS, bike computer, scorecard or phone without carrying a separate pair of reading glasses.
These are not a replacement for prescription distance or progressive lenses. Riders who require vision correction across the main part of the lens should discuss suitable sports eyewear with their optometrist.
Our Thoughts
The Rivet Reader solves a common problem for riders who can see the road perfectly well but struggle to read the smaller numbers on a bike computer. The Fototec lens also makes sense for cycling because it adapts as you move between bright and shaded sections.
Choosing the correct reader strength matters. Match your normal reading glasses where possible and allow some time to get used to looking through the magnified section before heading into traffic or onto a technical trail.
