The ULAC Neo Vue Raijin Photochromic Cycling Sunglasses combine the coverage of goggle-style eyewear with the lighter feel of cycling glasses. This model pairs a Punch frame with ULAC’s Neon Purple photochromic lens.
The broad cylindrical lens helps protect your eyes from sunlight, wind and light debris, while integrated vents allow air to move through the glasses. They are well suited to road, gravel and mountain biking, particularly when light conditions are likely to change during the ride.
Neon Purple Photochromic Lens
The photochromic lens changes tint as UV exposure changes. This makes the Raijin useful for rides that move between bright open sections, shaded trails and overcast conditions without needing to stop and change lenses.
ULAC’s Köri lens technology is designed to improve contrast, minimise colour distortion and reduce eye fatigue. The 1.37mm cylindrical polycarbonate lens provides high impact resistance and UV400 protection from UVA and UVB rays.
Photochromic performance depends on temperature and UV exposure. The lens may react more slowly in warmer conditions and may not darken fully behind some vehicle windscreens because the glass blocks much of the UV light needed to activate it.
Vented TR90 Frame
Vents around the lens help air pass through the glasses and reduce heat build-up while riding. No cycling glasses are completely fog-proof, but the added airflow is useful during slower climbs and warmer rides.
The durable TR90 frame is designed to resist fatigue through regular use. At approximately 28g, the Raijin provides substantial coverage without the weight of a conventional riding goggle.
Neo Porter and RX Insert Included
The included RX insert can be fitted with prescription lenses by a suitable optometrist or optical provider.
The Neo Porter protects the glasses and can also be mounted as a compact 0.8L handlebar bag. Check the available space before fitting it and make sure it cannot interfere with cables, brake hoses, lights or steering.

Our Thoughts
The Raijin is a good choice if you want plenty of lens coverage without moving to a full riding goggle. The photochromic lens is practical for New Zealand conditions, where a ride can move between strong sunlight, bush and cloud reasonably quickly.
The large lens will suit riders who like a bold, goggle-style shape. If you prefer smaller or more casual-looking glasses, one of ULAC’s less enclosed Neo Vue models may be a better choice.
