Description

Race Speed. Extra Grip. Built for Rougher Roads.

The Vittoria Corsa PRO Control is a high-performance road racing tyre developed for wet roads, broken surfaces, cobblestones and fast rides where grip and confidence matter as much as outright speed.

It retains the supple 320 TPI cotton-blend casing and fast Graphene + Silica compound of the Corsa PRO, but uses a thicker, wider tread with a herringbone shoulder pattern for additional grip and puncture resistance.

The tubeless-ready construction can be set up with sealant or used with a suitable inner tube, giving you flexibility when choosing your preferred setup.

More Control on Rough and Wet Roads

The herringbone shoulder tread is designed to provide additional grip when the bike is leaned into a corner. This makes the Corsa PRO Control particularly well suited to wet tarmac, rough chip seal, cobblestones and hard-packed gravel sections.

It remains a road racing tyre rather than a general-purpose gravel tyre. The tread adds confidence on rougher surfaces without giving the tyre a slow or heavily treaded feel on sealed roads.

Graphene and Silica Race Compound

Vittoria’s Graphene + Silica compound is tuned to balance rolling speed, grip and durability. It rolls efficiently on smoother sections while providing the traction needed for wet corners and unpredictable road surfaces.

Supple 320 TPI Cotton-Blend Casing

The 320 TPI cotton-blend casing allows the tyre to conform closely to the road surface. This creates the supple ride feel Corsa tyres are known for and helps the bike maintain traction over coarse chip seal, broken tarmac and cobblestones.

Electrical curing joins the tread and casing without the raised seams created by a conventional gluing process, producing a smooth transition across the tyre.

Additional Puncture Protection

The Control uses a slightly thicker and wider tread than the standard Corsa PRO. An Anti-Puncture Belt beneath the tread and an additional Bead Shield provide further protection in vulnerable areas.

It is still a lightweight competition tyre, so it will not provide the same level of cut resistance or wear life as a heavier training tyre. Its advantage is the balance of race speed, grip and protection.

Tube or Tubeless Setup

The Corsa PRO Control is tubeless-ready and can also be used with a suitable inner tube. For tubeless installation, use a compatible tubeless rim, appropriate valves and an ammonia-free sealant.

Do not use sealants containing ammonia, as they can damage the cotton casing. Vittoria Universal Tubeless Tyre Sealant is the recommended option.

Hookless Rim Compatibility

Sizes 28mm and wider are compatible with suitable TSS hookless rims. When used on a hookless rim, the maximum permitted pressure is 5 bar or 72.5psi.

The 26mm size is not approved for hookless rims. Always check the rim manufacturer’s tyre-width requirements and use Vittoria’s pressure recommendations for your tyre size, rim width, rider weight and riding conditions.

Tyre Wear Indicator

A Tyre Wear Indicator is moulded into the tread to help you monitor wear. Replace the tyre when the indicator is no longer visible or earlier if the casing, tread or bead shows damage.

Why Choose the Vittoria Corsa PRO Control?

The Corsa PRO Control is the version to choose when you want Corsa PRO speed and ride quality with a little more grip and protection. It is particularly well suited to wet races, rough chip seal, cobbled events and fast road rides that include occasional hard-packed gravel.

If most of your riding is on smooth roads in settled weather, the standard Corsa PRO is the lighter and more direct option. If you regularly train through debris-covered roads and place durability ahead of race speed, a heavier training tyre may be more practical.

Who Is This Tyre For?

The Corsa PRO Control suits road racers and performance-focused riders who regularly encounter wet roads, coarse chip seal, cobblestones or other unpredictable surfaces. The wider sizes also suit all-road builds where most of the riding remains on sealed roads but some groomed gravel may be included.

Our Thoughts

The Corsa PRO Control makes sense for New Zealand roads. Our coarse chip seal can be hard on lightweight race tyres, and the extra tread and grip make the Control a more reassuring choice than the standard Corsa PRO when the surface is rough or the weather is changeable.

It is still a proper racing tyre rather than a fit-and-forget commuter option. The cotton casing gives it an excellent ride feel, but correct installation, sensible pressures and regular inspections matter. If you are setting it up tubeless, the ammonia-free sealant requirement is particularly important.

For most modern road bikes, the 28mm or 30mm versions provide an excellent balance of speed, comfort and cornering confidence. Wider options can work well for rough-road and all-road riding, provided the frame, fork and rims have enough clearance.
