Proper BMX Construction. Sized for Younger Riders. Ready to Progress.
The WeThePeople CRS 18″ is a scaled-down freestyle BMX for younger riders who are not yet ready for a full-size 20-inch bike. Its shorter frame, 18-inch wheels and correctly proportioned components make it easier to control, while the three-piece chromoly cranks, sealed bearings and cassette hub give it the durability needed as confidence and skills develop.
Finished in Translucent Red, it looks and feels like a proper WeThePeople BMX rather than a basic children’s bike.
An 18-Inch BMX That Fits Properly
An adult BMX reduced only at the wheels will rarely fit a smaller rider well. The CRS 18″ uses a dedicated frame, fork, handlebar and 152mm crankset to keep the riding position and controls better proportioned for younger riders.
Its short 11.65-inch chainstay helps make the bike easier to lift and manoeuvre, which is useful when learning manuals, hops and other basic BMX skills.
Strong, Progression-Friendly Frame
The CRS 18″ frame combines a 4130 chromoly down tube with a 1020 high-tensile steel construction. A chromoly steerer is used in the Salt AM 18 fork for added strength through the front end.
Removable gyro-tab holes are included for riders who may want to add a gyro as their riding progresses.
Simple Single-Speed Drivetrain
The 25T front sprocket and nine-tooth cassette driver provide compact BMX gearing with fewer parts to adjust or damage. Salt Rookie tubular three-piece chromoly cranks are a worthwhile inclusion at this size and provide a stronger setup than the one-piece cranks fitted to many junior bikes.
A sealed Spanish bottom bracket and sealed cassette driver help keep the drivetrain running smoothly with regular maintenance.
Scaled Controls and Reliable Braking
A Salt AM alloy rear U-brake provides familiar BMX braking, while the alloy lever is easy to position for smaller hands. The 45mm top-load stem, 138mm flangeless grips and dedicated CRS 18 handlebar complete a cockpit proportioned around the 18-inch platform.
Salt Tracer 2.2-inch tyres provide a broad, stable contact patch for skateparks, pump tracks and general riding.

Fit Advice
BMX sizing depends on more than age. Rider height, arm length, confidence and previous riding experience all affect whether an 18-inch or 20-inch BMX will feel right.
The CRS 18″ is intended to bridge the gap between junior BMX bikes and full-size 20-inch models. Contact Chain Reaction if you would like help checking the fit before ordering.

Our Thoughts on the WeThePeople CRS 18″
The CRS 18″ is a good option for a younger rider who is serious about progressing but still needs a bike that fits properly. The short rear end and proportioned cockpit make it manageable, while the three-piece cranks, sealed cassette hub and Spanish bottom bracket give it a more capable build than many bikes in this wheel size.
At 10.92kg it is not exceptionally light, but the weight comes with sturdy BMX components intended to cope with regular riding. We would choose the CRS 18″ for a rider who wants to use the skatepark or pump track, rather than someone who only needs a casual bike for riding around the neighbourhood.
