WorldTour-Level Components. Exceptionally Low Weight.
The X-LAB RT9 is a high-performance carbon road bike built for racing, climbing and fast road riding. Its Toray T1100 + M40X carbon frame is paired with Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 electronic shifting, a power-meter crankset, an integrated carbon cockpit and Branta C50 ULR carbon wheels.
At a claimed 6.20 kg in size L, the RT9 is exceptionally light for a complete disc-brake road bike. It suits riders looking for immediate acceleration, efficient climbing and precise handling without needing to plan an expensive list of upgrades.
Toray T1100 + M40X Carbon Frameset
The RT9 uses a high-grade Toray T1100 + M40X carbon frame with a matching Toray T1100 carbon fork. Its low weight and race-focused geometry create a responsive platform for climbing, sprinting and fast changes of direction.
A conventional 27.2 mm carbon seatpost allows useful adjustment and helps take some of the sting out of coarse road surfaces. The threaded BSA bottom bracket is also a practical inclusion, making servicing more straightforward than many press-fit systems.
SRAM UDH compatibility provides a widely supported replacement derailleur-hanger standard, while 12 mm thru-axles help maintain accurate wheel and brake alignment.
Shimano Dura-Ace Di2
Shimano Dura-Ace R9200 Di2 provides fast and consistent electronic shifting through a 2 × 12-speed drivetrain. The wireless shift controls keep the cockpit tidy, while the derailleurs are powered by the central Di2 battery.
A 52/36T crankset and 11–34T cassette give the RT9 a useful balance of high-speed gearing and manageable climbing ratios. This makes it suitable for road racing and fast bunch rides without committing the rider to an excessively tall traditional race cassette.
Dura-Ace hydraulic disc brakes provide controlled braking in wet or dry conditions. A 160 mm front rotor supplies additional heat capacity and braking leverage, while the 140 mm rear rotor helps keep weight down.
Integrated Power Meter and Apple Find My
The Branta carbon crankset includes an integrated power meter, allowing riders to measure training effort, pace longer events and track performance without purchasing a separate crank or pedal system.
Apple Find My technology is also built into the crankset, providing an additional way to locate the bike through a compatible Apple account and device. This is a useful security feature, but it does not replace a quality physical lock when the bike is left unattended.
Branta C50 ULR Carbon Wheels
The Branta C50 ULR wheelset uses carbon rims and carbon spokes with ceramic bearings. Its 50 mm rim depth provides an aerodynamic profile for racing and fast road riding while remaining suitable for rolling and hilly courses.
Michelin Pro 5 700 × 28C tyres provide a sensible balance of speed, grip and everyday road comfort. The frame has a maximum recommended tyre clearance of 700 × 30C.
Integrated Carbon Cockpit
The Branta integrated carbon cockpit combines the handlebar and stem into a clean, lightweight unit. Handlebar width and stem length vary by frame size to provide more suitable proportions across the range.
An integrated cockpit offers a tidy front end, but it also provides less adjustment than separate handlebars and stems. We recommend confirming the frame size, handlebar width and stem length before ordering.
Selle Italia SLR Boost Saddle
A Selle Italia SLR Boost saddle with carbon rails completes the lightweight build. Saddle comfort is personal, so the supplied saddle should be treated as a high-quality starting point rather than a guarantee of the correct shape or width for every rider.

Who Is It For?
- Road racing and competitive events
- Fast bunch rides
- Climbing-focused road riding
- Performance training and power-based workouts
- Gran fondos and long road events
- Riders wanting Shimano Dura-Ace Di2
- Riders looking for a very light complete road bike
- Experienced riders who know their preferred cockpit dimensions
The RT9 uses a performance-focused riding position. Riders wanting a more upright position, greater tyre clearance or extra comfort for rough roads may be better suited to an endurance road bike.
Our Thoughts
The headline figure is the 6.20 kg claimed weight, but the RT9 is more than a light frame with inexpensive parts added to meet a price. Dura-Ace Di2, carbon-spoked C50 wheels, an integrated carbon cockpit, power meter and carbon-railed saddle make this a properly high-level build.
The 52/36T gearing and 11–34T cassette are also a sensible combination. There is enough top-end gearing for racing, but the 34T largest sprocket makes the bike more manageable on long or steep climbs than a close-ratio race cassette.
Fit deserves careful attention. The integrated cockpit limits easy stem and handlebar changes, while the short crank lengths are quite different from those traditionally supplied on road bikes. That may suit riders looking for improved cornering clearance and a more open hip angle, but it should be considered as part of the complete bike fit.
For a rider wanting a very light race bike with top-level electronic shifting and a power meter already fitted, the RT9 offers an impressive specification straight out of the box.
