The 2027 Specialized S-Works Levo 4 X combines the trail capability of the Levo 4 with a high-performance carrying system designed for longer and more adventurous rides.
Specialized calls it Electric Overland. In practical terms, it is a full-power carbon e-MTB that can carry camping gear, trail tools, clothing and everyday cargo without turning into a conventional utility bike.
Its S-Works 3.1 motor delivers up to 850 watts and 111Nm of torque, backed by an integrated 840Wh battery. A FACT 11m carbon frame, 160/150mm FOX Factory suspension, SRAM XX Eagle AXS Transmission and front and rear racks create a bike that can handle technical singletrack one day and a loaded overnight trip the next.
What Is Electric Overland?
The Levo 4 X is not a traditional cargo bike with mountain-bike styling. It is a proper Levo 4 with front and rear high-performance racks added to carry gear without sacrificing the bike’s ability to ride technical trails.
That opens the door to a wider range of rides. It can carry equipment for an overnight trip, tools for trail work or everyday gear across town, then head straight onto singletrack without needing to unload or change bikes.
The front and rear racks provide a combined carrying capacity of up to 22kg, with up to 10kg at the front and 12kg at the rear. The rear rack also supports the MIK three-pin mounting system for compatible bags and accessories.
S-Works 3.1 Power
The S-Works Specialized 3.1 motor produces up to 850 watts and 111Nm, giving the Levo 4 X the power needed to manage steep climbs while carrying additional gear.
Power delivery remains smooth and predictable rather than arriving as a sudden surge. That makes it easier to maintain traction on loose surfaces and control the bike when climbing through technical terrain.
The integrated 840Wh battery provides up to 4.40 hours of claimed riding time under Specialized’s stated test conditions. Actual riding time depends on assistance level, rider weight, carried load, elevation, trail conditions, temperature and riding style.
For longer rides, the bike is compatible with the optional Specialized Levo 4 Full Power Range Extender. The 280Wh Range Extender increases total available capacity to 1,120Wh.
FACT 11m Carbon Frame
The FACT 11m carbon frame provides the precision and stiffness expected from an S-Works Levo while incorporating the mounting points needed for the Electric Overland carrying system.
Adjustable geometry lets the rider tune the head angle, bottom-bracket height and chainstay length around terrain, riding style and load. That is particularly useful on a bike designed to move between unloaded trail riding and longer trips carrying extra equipment.
Integrated SWAT storage inside the downtube provides additional space for tools and trailside essentials, keeping small items secure and reducing the amount of gear carried on the rider.
FOX Factory Suspension with GENIE
A 160mm FOX 38 Factory fork with GRIP X2 damper controls the front of the bike. Its stiff 38mm chassis is well suited to a full-power e-MTB, particularly when carrying extra weight or braking hard on steep terrain.
The GRIP X2 damper provides independent high- and low-speed compression and rebound adjustment, allowing experienced riders to tune the fork around their weight, riding style and intended load.
At the rear, the FOX FLOAT X Factory shock controls 150mm of travel using Specialized’s GENIE air-spring technology. GENIE is designed to provide good sensitivity and traction early in the travel, useful support through the middle and greater resistance to harsh bottom-outs near the end.
SRAM XX Eagle AXS Transmission
SRAM XX Eagle AXS Transmission provides electronic shifting with a direct derailleur-to-frame mounting system. It is designed to shift cleanly under load, an important advantage when climbing with full motor assistance and additional luggage.
The derailleur draws power from the bike’s main e-bike battery through its integrated connection. There is no separate removable SRAM AXS derailleur battery to charge.
High-Performance Front and Rear Racks
The carrying system is what separates the Levo 4 X from the standard Levo 4. Both racks are designed around performance riding rather than simply providing somewhere to hang a pannier.

Our Thoughts
The Levo 4 X fills a gap that most e-MTBs leave open. A standard trail bike is brilliant for a few hours in the hills, but carrying camping gear, trail tools or a meaningful amount of equipment usually involves a large backpack or improvised straps.
The front and rear rack system provides a far more useful solution while retaining the suspension, geometry and motor performance that make the Levo 4 such a capable trail bike.
The S-Works specification will be more bike than many riders need, but there is a clear purpose behind it. The 850-watt motor helps manage loaded climbs, the FOX Factory suspension offers the adjustment needed for changing loads and the XX Transmission shifts well under power.
For riders who want a pure trail bike, a standard Levo 4 will be lighter and simpler. For riders who look at the end of a trail and wonder where it goes next, the Levo 4 X offers something genuinely different.
