Nothing This Powerful Has Ever Felt This Agile
The Specialized S-Works Turbo Levo R combines the strongest version of Specialized’s 3.1 motor with a lighter, sharper chassis built for riders who value speed, precision and responsive handling.
Its 140mm front and 130mm rear suspension package gives the bike enough control for demanding technical trails without losing the lively feel that sets the Levo R apart from a longer-travel full-power e-MTB.
The result is a bike that accelerates quickly, changes direction easily and feels properly connected to the trail. It has the motor power and battery capacity for big climbing days, but its real strength is how naturally it carries speed across varied terrain.
The Rally Car of E-MTBs
The Levo R uses the same full-power Turbo foundation as the Levo 4, but its intent is different. The lower-travel chassis, rally-focused geometry and lighter components make it noticeably more responsive than a conventional long-travel e-MTB.
Specialized offers Levo R builds as light as 18.8kg, but that figure applies to the separate S-Works Ultralight model. This 900Wh S-Works build has a claimed weight of 21.82kg in size S3, which is still impressively light for a full-power e-MTB carrying this much battery capacity.
This is Electric Rally: fast on climbs, precise through corners and keen to carry speed whenever the trail opens up.
S-Works 3.1 Motor
The S-Works version of the Specialized 3.1 motor delivers up to 850 watts of peak power and 111Nm of torque. It provides more outright support than the standard Levo R motor while retaining the controlled power delivery needed for technical riding.
The Turbo system monitors rider input and manages its support to help maintain traction. This makes the bike easier to control across loose surfaces, wet roots and awkward low-speed climbs instead of simply delivering a hard surge of power.
900Wh Battery and Configurable Range
The integrated 900Wh battery gives the S-Works Levo R serious capacity for long trail rides and repeated climbing.
The optional 280Wh Range Extender increases total available capacity to 1,180Wh and provides up to 4.63 hours of claimed riding time. Actual range will depend on assistance mode, rider weight, terrain, elevation, temperature and riding conditions.

A Specialized 12A Smart Charger is included. It offers Standard, Fast, Eco and charge-to-80% modes and can charge the 900Wh battery from 0–80% in under an hour when the appropriate fast-charging mode is used.
The MasterMind TCU has a clear 2.2-inch display and connects with the Specialized app, allowing you to customise assistance, monitor ride information and manage the Turbo system. Apple Find My compatibility and Turbo System Lock provide useful additional security.
FACT 11m Carbon Rally Chassis
The FACT 11m carbon frame uses a carbon shock extension, titanium hardware and 130mm of rear-wheel travel. Adjustable geometry allows the bike to be tuned for different terrain and riding preferences, while the side-entry battery design keeps the frame layout tidy.
The Levo R places the rider in a forward, centred position that helps the front wheel hold a line through corners and keeps the bike balanced when climbing.
Internal SWAT storage provides room for trailside repair essentials without needing to carry everything in your pockets or riding pack.
RockShox Ultimate Suspension with GENIE
The RockShox Lyrik Ultimate fork provides 140mm of travel and uses the LinearXL air spring with ButterCups, adjustable bottom-out control and a Charger 3.2 damper. High-speed compression, low-speed compression and rebound adjustments allow the fork to be properly tuned for the rider and terrain.
At the rear, the RockShox Super Deluxe Ultimate shock combines an RC2T damper with Specialized’s GENIE air-spring system. Separate high-speed and low-speed compression adjustments provide plenty of setup control.
GENIE keeps the beginning of the stroke supple for traction, adds support through the middle of the travel and increases resistance as the shock approaches bottom-out. The result is a 130mm bike that handles bigger impacts better than the travel figure might suggest.
SRAM XX SL Eagle AXS Transmission
SRAM XX SL Eagle AXS Transmission provides fast electronic shifting with a wide 10–52T cassette. The direct-mount derailleur is designed to shift under load, which is especially useful on a full-power e-MTB where the motor and rider can place considerable pressure through the drivetrain.
The AXS Pod Ultimate controller communicates wirelessly, while the derailleur draws power from the bike’s main electrical system. There is no separate derailleur battery to remove and charge.
Roval Traverse SL II Carbon Wheels
Roval Traverse SL II carbon wheels help keep rotating weight down while retaining the strength needed for aggressive trail riding. Their hookless rims have a 30mm internal width, providing a stable base for the 2.4-inch Specialized tyres.
Industry Nine Hydra 2 hubs offer very quick engagement, helping the bike respond immediately when power is applied through a technical section or out of a corner.
Premium Contact Points
The Roval Control SL RISE cockpit combines the carbon handlebar and 50mm stem into a lightweight integrated unit. Its 780mm width keeps the front of the bike responsive without becoming excessively wide.
A Specialized S-Works Power Mirror saddle uses 3D-printed padding to provide targeted support, while the FOX Transfer Neo E-Optimized dropper gives electronic operation and size-specific travel.
The dropper draws power from the bike’s main electrical system, so there is no separate seatpost battery to remove and charge.
29-Inch Wheels and S-Sizing
All available sizes use 29-inch wheels front and rear for efficient rollover, predictable handling and strong momentum across rough ground.
Specialized S-Sizing allows some riders to choose between neighbouring sizes according to the handling they prefer. A smaller size will generally feel more agile, while sizing up adds room and high-speed stability.

Who Is It For?
The S-Works Turbo Levo R is for riders who want maximum full-power assistance without the heavier, slower handling of a long-travel enduro e-MTB.
- Fast, flowing and technical trail riding
- Riders who value agility, acceleration and precise handling
- Long rides with repeated climbing
- Riders wanting highly adjustable RockShox suspension
- Riders looking for top-level electronic shifting and carbon wheels
- Anyone wanting the strongest motor and largest internal battery in the Levo R range
For regular bike-park laps, large jumps or very steep enduro terrain, the longer-travel Levo 4 EVO may be the better tool. For riders who want to cover ground quickly and enjoy a more responsive bike, the Levo R is the stronger choice.
Our Thoughts
The S-Works Turbo Levo R is not simply a lighter Levo 4. The lower-travel chassis, forward riding position and lighter components give it a genuinely different character.
It feels quick when accelerating, easy to place through technical sections and more willing to change direction than most full-power e-MTBs. The 900Wh battery also gives it serious range without dulling the ride.
The RockShox Ultimate suspension, Traverse SL II wheels and XX SL AXS drivetrain are all high-end components, but the frame and suspension layout are what make the biggest difference. If you want full-power climbing support with the ride feel of a fast trail bike, this is the top build in the standard Levo R range.
