Kommit’s Bike Towing System is made from hard-wearing nylon line borrowed from skydiving and extends out to 2m. It offers tool-free attachment under your saddle, and the loop at the end is designed to slip over your passenger’s stem. There is a good-sized pull tab to prevent squished fingers, and it makes for an easy target to remove the loop at the top of a climb.
Kommit also includes a carabiner to help you lasso oddly shaped stems or tricky cockpit situations.
The reel is auto-retracting, so there is no need to worry about there being too much slack. That said, the cord is not dynamic, so be careful when you drop the clutch to prevent whiplash.
The line itself is braided and has a tensile load capacity of 120kg — that’s the pulling force, not the weight of what you’re towing. So it’s not just for kids, and if one of your mates has an e-Bike, they can absolutely shuttle you up the hill.
